Not sure what to think about this one..... It's open PvP with permadeath, but the amount of content is staggering. The "sandbox" design of the game really makes for a near infinite possibilities.
The one thing I'm sure of though, The graphics are freaking S-W-E-E-T!!!

I wanna level up faster, but i keep going afk. Ive missed another guild grinding session today, they might kick me out but im joining another guild in 2 weeks that will give me more loot.
1. The monthly fees are to high
2. The job classes suck and are extremely boring, but are needed for the extreme amount of farming needed to survive. Some people get a free ride though.
3. Extremely corrupt gms, alot of there favorite become rich easily
4. Full of scammers
5. Worse community than WoW
6. Forced down time for food and sleep
7. The sex is awesome though

They totally lie. First Life lags ALL the time. Like right now. OMG, it's like I can barely move my fat butt off my chair with all this lag.... Maybe I'll go play EQ2 instead, where I have *wings*.

Man, lemme tell you about this exhausting game. I've had lots of first hand experience with it, and the first and foremost thing you need to know is this... Roughly 10% of all the players have 90% of the in game currency they call "money". It's hard to start out because most people, like me, start out very middle class or even poor and how you start out is like 100% luck.
Once your life begins, you have to spend the first 25% of your in game life of about 20 years going to something called "school" for which there is no in-game money rewarded. That is a total damn grind, let me tell you. Then, you advance and can actually make "money" but there is so much bullshit that you have to pay for before you even get to think about spending your money on stuff you actually want to buy in the game. You have to pay stupid shit like doctor bills, rent for a shelter to live in, and OMFG do your avatars and your families eat a ton of food! (families are the other people in the game you live with including some little brats called "kids") OMG. What a drag and a headache. Bills, Bills, Bills, Bills, Bills. You have really constant drags in the game like nagging mothers, mother in laws, etc which simply do nothing but piss you off. That's really all they are in the game for.
Man, I'd take about ANY mmorpg over this grind-fest. No game has better graphics then this one, but graphics don't make the game. You can't even cast lightning bolts out your fingers or buff yourself with cool spells in this dumb game. What a drag.
Once again, proof that the best graphics don't equal the most fun game available...

First of all, yes, the graphics are amazing. Even on my existing hardware, it is awesome. Everything has crisp edges with no jaggies. Texture loading doesn't even seem to be an issue, my hard drive was never adressed. The cliping plane is litterally miles away most of the time. Amazing weather effects. The whole nine yards. Any realistic graphic you've wished for in your MMO, real life has it.
Apparently everyone has pretty different experiences but the first thing I noticed was I was stuck with the toon I first rolled. Secondly, I didn't feel like I got any input at character creation. Like, if your hair is brown, its brown. You have to buy something to change your hair color and, get this, wait for it to grow if you want a different hairstyle. Ok, there is realism, and then there are just annoying mechanics.
Secondly, the combat seems lacking. There were a lot of little animals but no monsters or anything in the area to fight. Not even a giant rat or something. Also, I think it is all twitch based. To top it off, you're always better using a gun pretty much than a sword. It really is a FPS as far as combat is concerned. The guns have different stats but if you get a headshot its mostly pointless.
In fact, you can't even change your camera perspective. Its first-person all the time.
Seriously if these games want to market as RPGs they should learn something from games like AO as far as combat complexity and itemization are concerned.
