    There are lots of factors to consider when answering this so I will give small qualifying explanation to my answer.

    It would be easy to just name something like Shadowbane or Face of Mankind since they are not a lot of fun to play and arnt really polished that well and dont really appeal to many people. But that really discounts the "niche" nature of these products and the fact that the people who do play them.... love them...

    Equally I could look back on something like the AO launch and use it as an excuse to say AO was the worst MMO, but that really undermines the great work Funcom did in getting a Sci Fi MMO up at all in the face of the populartity of fantasy themes.

    So when you take into account the money, the resources and the expertise behind the worst MMO of all time and combine it with the unbreakable franchise that they managed not only to break, but to destroy almost completely for any future online game....

    The worst MMO of all time, using any measure you care to name.... would have to go... sadly but truly.... to :

    runescape-crappy community,no diversety in players,crappy ghraphics,I can go on and on

    Talking about pay to play games, I'd have to say its a tossup between DnL and SWG: NGE. We'll go with the NGE, because I didn't pay for DnL (Tried it out on my friend's account, the poor bastard).

    DnL. The current SWG is bad, really bad, but I logged into it a few times and had some fun while on station pass. I never had any fun while logged into DnL. When something has as much drama behind it as DnL you just have to see it for yourself when a free trial option appears.

    It did not dissapoint in dissapointing me.

    Each MMO who turn into a raid-feast when I just want to group.

     

    See, if I trust devs and enjoy a gameplay, I expect them to respect that gameplay and not change the rules later on to ruin my experience and my departure feeling.  If a MMO rewards raiders with better grouping tools, then this is a suck-o-max MMO, the better the experience before this happen, the worser the resentment.  Best groupers have to be groupers; period.

    The uncategorically worst mmo that I have ever played was Bloodlust...the worst mainstream MMO that should have been something better and had no excuse, was probably NGE SWG

    Your argument is like a two legged dog with an eating disorder...weak and unbalanced.

    Matrix online from the start was horrible for me, all the leveling content was missions getting you to do practicly the same mission over and over til level 50. There was few corny events and the paper-rock-scisors combat system made it even worse, it had grimy graphics to imo and didnt even come close to what my mind hyped the Matrix online was gonna be.

    SWG is the mmo that had the worst downfall and lack of reaching its full potential, SOE failed to realize that fixing pre-cu and making it a workable system would have saved the game and not 3 whole verisons of basicly 3 differant games. NGE was so horrible and I felt so disgusted with SOE I vowed from that day to never buy anything Sony or Sony related EVER and tell everyone how bad Sony is when I get the chance.

    probably Carpe Diem or Runescape.
    although i did have a good time in runescape before i figured there were better online games out there..

    I've stayed away from the truely bad ones. I'd have to say FFXI though... Well, on the other hand, I played Horizons when it was in closed beta, and it was pretty awful then, and I'm sure its still awful now, but I'll still say FFXI to be fair.

    Face of Mankind open beta has the record for the shortest time ever on my hard drive.  It was actually worse than Dark and Light in retrospect

    Hands down, Matrix Online.  For numerous reasons I'm not going to go on about, it killed any intrest I might have had in the franchise.  It's sad when an SOE takeover is seen as good news.

    Guild Wars is still an MMO.

    Ohh,, Intressting! looks like SWG is up ahead with the title worst game so far, well keep it coming guys, I´d like to se everyones taste..;)
