Well it just so happens I’m sick so I’m not going into work today.

This at

least freed up some time to write up a few ideas to pitch to you and

the

team, see what strikes your interest.  Also, I myself am merely a

creator in

the creative sense but I have no technical skills yet and I’m unsure of

the

limits of our team.  For this reason, forgive me if I’m offering too

much,

or too little… but trust me if you think any of these would be too

little,

my imagination could make it large in no time!

So here are some suggestions for an MMO game to build… mainly, I’d like

to

break away from the everyday same-bland mmo’s with some fresher

concepts.

These are all just simple ideas, I can get into more detail about any

of

them once we’ve decided on what we want to / can do / will be

passionate

about working on:

[All these titles are prototype]

#1: ‘DarkStalkers’

The game takes place in one major city, and it is always night.  The

setting

is very gothic, dark and dreary.  Think Gotham from batman meets the

mood

lighting of the Matrix.  For centuries, three factions have been at a

silent

war… The Vampires, werewolves and the hunters who slay both without

mercy.

The war is so old, neither side can remember who started it, but of

course

Vampires blame werewolves and werewolves blame the vampires.  The

humans

simply hate, fear and must destroy both.

The history of what set everything off is revealed to both sides during

the

game which leads them through war, betrayal, deception and hell on

Earth.

This would be interesting because there is really nothing for the

gothic

genre out there currently so we would offer up something new simply

because

it’s not the same old setting.

#2: ‘Urban Warlands’

Think ‘Grand Theft Auto, the MMORPG’.  Characters customize their

‘thug’ and

work their way up the chain to prove themselves to which ever gang they

prefer or even start their own small gangs as allies of a major gang

[Gang

rather than guild].  The point of the game is to climb as high as you

can in

the criminal underworld from petty thug to full out mobster.  Realm vs

Realm

combat could exist in battles over ‘hoods’ in the city between players

held

as weekend events.  On the other side of the spectrum, players could

choose

to be the ‘good guys’, that is to say Cops.  Starting as a small time

police

officer to an undercover cop or maybe even swat life.

#3: ‘The Fabled’

A fantasy world where you live out a life from childhood to retirement

in an

effort to become one of the heroes or villains to leave behind a

legacy.

Starting off as a boy or girl in a small town, you would do odd little

jobs

for the townsfolk to learn game play while the decisions you make push

you

towards becoming a good or evil person much like the game Fable.

Characters

‘grow’ as they level and reflectively to what they do.  If one player

takes

quests to battle off pests at a local farm, he will gain muscle mass.

Another player could decide to help the local alchemist and instead

gain

intelligence but remain thinner.  Change would be gradual over time of

course, but indicative of the choices each player makes.  If one player

does

good deeds, then they wont have access to evil quests and thus no one

‘from

the shadows’ would approach him to lure them into evils.  On the other

hand

if a character does things like abuse people and animals, the evils of

the

world open up and embrace them, nurturing those evil impulses – but

they

lose the ability to complete ‘good’ quests and so a rift begins.  Now

as

characters go off to the School of Combat or School of Magic or just

adventure, they unravel a great threat to the world and can choose to

fight

against it or join it.  In much later levels, realm vs. realm combat

opens

up.  Now to become a LEGEND, you must survive the last few levels

without

dying.  If you accomplish this, you get to leave behind your legacy in

the

form of an item you own, which your character ‘blesses with their

immortal

soul’ giving it an enhancement.  As your character retires, the item

you

choose is tossed back into the world for someone else or maybe your

next

character to find.  This could garner replayability and ‘Special items’

would practically generate themselves through players.

#4: Starscape

We’ve seen Space marines, and we’ve seen Elves, Dwarves and Humans in a

fantasy earth setting… but how about a Dwarf in sci-fi exo-armor?  A

sci-fi

fantasy reality each race is from other world and has sub-races.  The

humans

hunger for exploration of the unknown.  Elves starve for knowledge and

understanding of the universe through the mystical power they possess

over

the energies of magic and Dwarves… well you can’t spell Dwarf without

WAR

and they love a good fight.  Elf technology is sleek and graceful

showcasing

their talents at stealth and speed, while Dwarf technology is gruff and

tough showcasing their durability and power.  Humans lay somewhere

between.

#5: Fallout : Nuclear Winter

There were many signs of the coming third world war, but no one thought

they

would really unleash the nukes on such a massive global scale.  In

preparation of such an event, large fallout shelters were constructed

years

prior to the final moments of life above.  For a long time, no one has

been

to the surface to face the nuclear winter or the horrors generated by

the

radiation.  Now, it’s time to reclaim the surface.  Characters start

out in

a ‘fallout city’ where they’ve grown up all their lives never having

seen

the world above…now they train to prepare for the expedition of

rediscovering the world that once was without knowing if anyone else

made it

at all.  Imagine the world crumbled to pieces, cities are now

wastelands

covered in ice and snow.  It seems at first glance that nothing

survived…

but some did… and they have changed.  The game is an epic story of

survival

for the human race.  Eventually as characters play on to discover

things and

fight off mutated monsters and flesh eating cannibalistic wild packs of

what

used to be humans, they discover that the worlds most brilliant minds

had

been working on a project long ago to survive on the moon and began

terraforming Mars long ago into a habitable world.  They could be found

by

humans from the moon or even Mars who have come back to ‘check on

Earth’ and

then leave the savage winter for a virtual paradise as a plan to

re-terraform Earth begins.

Okay those are 5 rough ideas I wrote up just this morning, but I’ve got

plenty more.  Let me know what the team thinks.

All the best,

-Deacon
