Providence

On January 7th the Providence shard will be launching its Publish 16 server.

This means that champ spawns, powerscrolls and everything else you saw on OSI will be in their full glory on this shard. We feel we will be the only true, serious pub 16 shard out there.

Everything will of course be balanced out, such as there will be no stat scrolls. The server will maintain its 99.9% uptime and good connectivity with its 100mb conn.

Tell you friends about it.

I thought it was only illegal if they charge to play on the server? This one looks like its free.

Don't be terrorized! You're more likely to die of a car accident, drowning, fire, or murder! More people die every year from prescription drugs than terrorism LOL!

"This is a notice to inform our members that posting links or information or even asking for links and information on free servers will result in a ban of your account.  Please note that operating a "free" unauthorized server is software piracy (copyright infringement) and is a violation of US Federal Law...subject to a fine of $250,000 and/or 5 years imprisonment."

Well, that rule is out of date. Its a known fact that OSI does not sue people for running a free shard, nor because they advertise them on other forums.

Also, most server protocols are reversed engineered, thus following under other laws, and do not break any. In effect, that rule is just to save the mmorpg's crew from possibly being sued, but in UO & the free shards case, there is no problem at all.
