Blinking Sig??? Ever heard of Seizures?

TaramTaram Member CommonPosts: 1,700
I'm not prone to them but just a tip to SnaKey and anyone else using that obnoxious flashing sig he's using:
Flashing/Blinking graphics can cause anyone prone to seizures to have one.

Might consider removing the blinking nature of it before you send some poor SOB to the emergency room, or worse... the morgue... because you were so silly as to post a huge flashing sig in neon colors that coulld easily trigger a seizure in anyone prone to them.

Yes I understand... it's a joking matter to you.
Just a fair warning.  If someone does have one you probably don't want to be the cause.

its just as likely that some one could get a siezre triggred by a slow strobe light.

and its still emensily annoying to everyone else.

    QFT
I am no longer bothered by it now... I blocked his hosting service... but the risk of triggering a seizure is still there if it strobes at all.

No, it just blinks 2 frames set at half a second each.

You just blocked photobucket though. :(

Seizures would be a hazard to every website a person susceptible to
that would go to, especially flash banners and that. Anyway agreed,
very annoying sig. Going to need a way to filter it out or look for an
ignore feature if I'm going to have to browse through many of them.

Yeah, SnaKey, I gotta say your sig is about a 10/10 on annoyance factor. I am close to blocking it myself.

  • SalvatorisSalvatoris Member Posts: 1,360
yah.. that is one of the most annoying sigs I have ever seen. I guess the problem I have with it is that it's whole point is to be annoying. It's pretty childish.

Lol that sig made me laugh.

That sig gives me a really bad headache.

I was tempted  to steal this sig from SnaKey =P If everybody put this as their sig maybe mmorpg.com would disable them. I HATE sigs and they should be disabled on every forum (only written sigs should be allowed imo)

Nope, just your sig directory.  Not that it would matter.  There's nothing on photobucket that I have any need to see.

    False.

I don't understand why people proclaim facts they have no clue about.

There are many types of triggers for epilepsy.  There are also many different types.  That sig is definately one of them.  Yes I'm in the medical field.  No I'm not a doctor.  But I am a RN.  I also suffered from epilepsy for 15 years of my life when I was young.

One time I suffered a 45 min one that nobody could snap me out of from play wargames on the commodore 64.  I believe the flashing was much less intense in color and in rate of flashing.   Superman on the Atari was the worst.  2hrs+

Strobes, disco lights, stage stuff etc.  Did absoultely zip.

I probably wouldn't have piped in on this at all, yes I find that sig annoying like no other, But I dislike know nothings that proclaim fact more than most things.

I just wont read the message boards till its gone.  It's like those flashing adds on other sites.

Yes, because noone should have freedom to be different than you, instead of you just disabling sigs in your user settings::::07::

I can disable them? hmm i was looking for that option but couldn't find.
I don't know what freedom are you talking about. As you can see in this thread some sigs are ugly/big and I don't want to load them, that's why I wish they were disabled.

It's not stealing, you are free to have it. Infact, I encourage it.

Well honestly, I haven't come here in a few weeks, but until I saw your sig, Snakey, I never had a problem with anyone elses sig being too large or annoying lol.
