Help me find a decent game... please?

Here I am, an old timer when it comes to online gaming.

Started with Ultima Online many many years ago, when the lands were new and the flowers blooming... blah and so on.

After I've spent way too many years in the lovely land of Britannia I felt it was getting very out of date and "ugly" so I had to find a new spot.

So I tried several different mmorpg's, here's a few of 'em; Anarchy Online (got bored due to no content), Star Wars Galaxies (well, we all know what they did to that game don't we?), Horizons (Bleh! Ick! Eew!), City of Heroes, Everquest2 and World of Warcraft (all three bored me stiff 'cause I hate level-games where you can only do one single thing)

Now I just can't find any game that's worth playing... I want something worth while with more content than just running around whacking things on the head and leveling.
So pretty please with sugar on top, any suggestions on where I should look?

Just a few pointers; I loved Ultima Online and Star wars galaxies. And I'm a TOTAL RP'er so games that has similiar function/playability would be prefered.

You might have had better luck placing this in the Pub, as they sit around arguing about MMOs all day. I'll recommend EvE for a polished sandbox game, though I hated it, and I'll recommend Roma Victor for a "rough around the edges" sandbox game.

Oh, you're right... that would be a better place to be.
and to reply to your suggestions; I hated Eve too, awful awful game and Rome Viktor doesn't tickle me a single bit.

For some reason I thought that the Pub was for specific game-discussion only.
Hehe... silly me. Best repost it there then.

Is there a way to move this post? Or maybe lock it?

Same here. Other than those, I'd have to say wait a few months and try out Vanguard.

That's what I've heard too... "Wait for Vanguard".

It's supposed to be quite good I've heard (and I've looked over the shoulder of a friend that's in Beta).
That was quite a long time ago I saw something from it though due to that the friend lives quite far away.

Hmm... but it sure seem to be just up my alley. The social aspect seem important, the ability to have a house is crusial to me and keeping shop is probably the things I find most fun in games of the MMO-kind.
(And I'm pretty darn good at keepin' shop too )

If you're a roleplayer I'd be more than happy to hook up with you "in there". 'cause that and keeping shop is what I do best.

And we all know that "Good roleplaying" + "Friendly social behaviour" + "snappy dresser" + "serious shop keeper" = Success

Roleplaying is always fun. I try to in most games, but sometimes it's hard to find a place where it's encouraged, but not absolutely mandatory (I like being able to be myself every now and then)

Personally I'm one of those rabid roleplayers that always stay in-character (except in whispers, pm's and such).

That's how I have the most fun, but I agree that it's sometimes hard to find decent places to roleplay.
Luckily most new mmorpg's have separate RP-servers these days. So that's where you'll find me

And most likely I'll be a middle aged woman, some sort of dirty beggar or a nun/monk trying to save the souls of the poor people that doesn't know what's good for 'em.

I tend to play the tweaky, tiny tank when I can, and RP as a very, very hyper, mischevious, little person. Or a reserved, honorous warrior, depending on the race of my character.
