Some of what I've seen so far looks promising. Others, well lets hope they get it right. Especially the new PvP system... If there is ANY loop hole, no matter how obscure, well as they say "Goons gotta Goon..."
I've been playing since late beta. I've played each expansion, and enjoyed some more than others. Panda Land was one of my least favorites. Wrath on the other hand, was one of my favorites.
Through it all, Blizzard itself (no matter what other games came out) was and remains, the only real threat to WoW. Lets see how BFA plays out.
If you understand developer psychology and corporate politics, you would understand the why of many of the expansions. The Vision™ problem, and in faction/out faction power dictate what gets done, and how. Its pretty much the same in any sector, but with games you get to see the results more clearly.
I spent around four and a half years in Firefall. During the first three I had a blast. Then came the bad times... During which The9 tried to turn the game into Gun of Warcraft™... It was all down hill from there.
For those interested Grummz (Mark Kerns) is in the process of creating another game, that will be much closer to his original vision. The final funding round for the initial demo just finished. They needed $20,000 and made more than $107,000, so its well on its way.
