  • So what is old school MMO really?

What made it fun was server pride and you literally knew everyone that was on in your time zone and any gear upgrade you got was meaningful. Bring that back. Things I don't miss are corpse runs and grinding a week to get a level.

Old school games were horrible. Corpse runs. Slow leveling. Camping. Loot drama. I am glad they are all gone.

The reason it isn't treated the same or called the same under the law is because of the very real differences.  Because you wish to ignore it, it doesn't change reality.  It just makes you dangerously ignorant, considering you claim to drive or have driven for Uber.

lol .. no one cares enough about MMO to have a LEGAL definition. Otherwise, there won't be so much flames here.

Now since you are playing the "ignorant" card .. are you ignorant of the fact that Engadet, a pretty prominent tech site, thinks that it is?

Or may be you are just ignoring the facts?

Are you still ignorant of the fact that the Dev Bungie and Publisher ATVI still dont call it an MMO..

Or maybe you are just ignoring the facts?
He's just picking up his crusader agenda right where he left off when he got banned.

wait .. you did not even dispute anything i said. I guess you have nothing to add about Engadget and US gamers calling Destiny 2 a MMO.
  • Is Destiny 2 an MMO:Poll

I have not been here for a few days, and what happened? This is *still* the most popular topic, with almost 300 posts now. And what is the second most popular topic?

Also about what is a MMO.

Now is there any doubt that a lot of people here care deeply about how to use a label? Certainly a lot more than whether a particular game is fun (although they don't admit it, of course!).

Yeah,  as I read Eldrians posts I thought we play for so very different reasons.

I'm far more interested in having a good time, especially if I can help others while doing so.

I'm guessing Eldrian believes the best way to help his team to is be the best he can personally be whereas for me its equally important  (and perhaps more so) to assist other members of my team, likely why I favor support roles.

Narius will call both of us chumps because for him only his goals matter. ;)
Of course. I don't see why i can't enjoy entertainment products as I see fit.

BTW, isn't that what you think too? The only difference is that you care about other players, and they are pretty much just NPCs to me.

It is certainly your prerogative to care about other players. However, you cannot ask for reciprocation. No one is under any obligation to play your way in an online game.

I should make a footnote that YES i do understand that if a game wants to deliver their own story part f the game, that is fine,i get it but the MAIN design of the game should focus on OUR STORY not the developers.
We should not be treated like little kids playing connect the dots, paint by numbers,ok after that join our instances.

Why? It is not like gamers are better story writers than professionals.

And it is a free world. If devs want to sell THEIR stories instead of you, and they are widely successful (like in WoW), why should they listen to you?
