But Star Citizen is delivering features way ahead of other space games. It already has some of the most difficult stuff to pull in a space game like meaningful Space Legs, EVA, Multicrew all seamless integrated thanks to dozens of ship's already built inside and out with dynamic components, Highly detailed Space Stations you can walk on and mingle, planets coming next...

Plenty of games released years and years ago have tried and failed to pull that off while Star Citizen already has it while still in Alpha.
Bleh. StarMade have them beat by years. Sure no shiny gfx, but the gameplay is there. Actually they have way more SC features up and running than SC have.

    Just saying.
Not really a "simulation" or a "living breathing universe" makes it another Space themed Lego building game alike.
We were talking actual delivered gameplay. SC currently neither sports that kind of gameplay.

You moved the goal posts mate. Not accepted.

These guys don't realize how many people leave the game over stuff like this.  CCP and Eve are not doing particularly well as of late and the last thing they need is more players abandoning ship.

Happenings like this usually result in a player influx, so I suspect CCP are quite contend with the situation.

No it doesn't. Big wars where ships go boom creats an influx. And for the record the majority of the last mad influx has left.

    Back to the current drama....

someone posted this on the Eve forums.
"I have had a family member commit suicide. I have struggled with depression my entire life. I don’t think half of you understand how hard it is to do simple things when you are extremely depressed. Just to get out of bed, to brush your teeth, to clean up the damn house. Depression that can lead to suicide is a very real thing in the gaming world. CCP I am absolutely ashamed of the way you handled Mittani back in the day".

    someone else responded.....

    Was it your child?

I know how you feel. I had a pet commit suicide, once. It was a goldfish. He ate himself to death. I think he had an eating disorder.

    This is Eve.
    Yup. That is EVE.

And with that in mind you need to think long and hard about how truthful the first post where. Not saying it was not, but do not assume that it was. The meta in eve is staggering.

Poster number two obviously had reached the conclusion that the first poster had ulterior motives for his post and thus deflated it.

If he was wrong, you, that is a horrible answer. If he was right on the money, that is a perfect answer.

    That is EVE.

Sometimes it's just better to release what you have and apologize for it and patch the fuck out of it. In this case, I don't know. I feel like they need to have everything be polished.
You don't really believe they could afford to have a dejavu of 2.0 with 3.0, now don't you?

It's obvious there's a high expectation, so no surprise they are playing defensive because there's no way they don't know they can't afford to give on 3.0 to the backers with the stability and performance of 2.0.

The pressure to deliver will accumulate with the pressure of the expectation that lies on that release, rush it independent of its state would have worse consequences than the backlash they get from delays.
If they really wanted to be open they would have two delivery tracks, the stable and the experimental. Stable would be the releases much like we see now, the experimental would follow sprint iterations or just plain daily builds.

Of course that would prevent them from lying through their teeth about the actual progress, so there is that...

  • Moon Landings, Planet Side Rovers & More in 3.0 Trailer - Star Citizen Videos - MMORPG.com

Ah, yes, 3.0. Seems like it was only 10 months ago Chris promised it in time for x-mas 2016. And good time that is. Not like 19th of December...

Lol. The incompetence of their project management is stellar.
