  • Gothic Fantasy MMO, Shadow's Kiss, Outpaces KickStarter Funding Goal - MMORPG.com News

I know it's pre-alpha - but to me this looks like a crappy version of TSW, except the movement is even slower - so it's one of those "walking simulator" games /shudder

20 years ago - vampires, werewolves, it was pretty cool, but today - just feels so damn worn out.

  • Building a Social, Community-Based MMO - The Pros & Cons of Group Finders - Saga of Lucimia - MMORPG

"This is a living, breathing world populated with living, breathing human beings, every single one of whom is worthy of your time and friendship"

Umm, I am going to have to disagree with this premise.

IMO most people online are not worthy my time - but actual frienship? Not even close.

I game with a group of RL friends, people Ive known since 1995-2000. I need to know a person IRL to be considered a friend.

People in MMOs - they might as well be NPCs, passer byes. Yes some I get to know over a few weeks eveb months but inivitably they quit and are never heard from again.

So not worth my time nor my friendship.

I know this sounds cold, but yeah mh expectations from other MMO players are basically zero.

  • Is "Pay for convenience" the new pay to win?

    Is green really blue?

    Nope.

    Its green.

And yes blue is just blue.

When 2 words have entirely different definitions, like winning and convenience

Paying for each is not going to be the same thing

Somehow I think this thread went over your head. The OP is asking if convenience items, features, or services are as effective at putting players ahead as pay-to-win schemes (effectively becoming pay to win schemes) and if they are replacing PTW as the de facto microtransaction monetary scheme.

Nope I was just being obtuse on purpose since this topic has been beaten to death a million times over.

OP is known to use topic generators and create threads like these.

Pay to win has no actual definiton - it means entirely different things to different people, so discussing what it really means is laregely an exercise in futility.

    Its like discussing "god".
