I know that there's this idea in these forums that since language evolves you can label whatever game you want an MMO but that's going a bit too far, don't…
Best "mmo" ones for me:
Diablo 1 and 2
Champions of Regnum
and for non-mmos with great music:
Torchlight
Fate by Wildtangent
Magic & Mayhem 1 (and 2 i think)
Sacrifice
(there are a few others as well, but ive forgotten)
Champion of Regnum's pve is really boring. But.. they are moving past that with the Squid Island updates. Hopefully, this may allow players to fully grind with PvP.
Well made PvP is basically speed chess. PvE of all sorts is a very poor competitor …
Let me try with a spiritual successor to Champions of Regnum....
hmm i guess the funny thing is i wouldn't change very much. the game seems to me to be fairly close to perpetual fun for me. but there are flaws:
What I'd prioritize keeping:

I do love Warhammer Reckoning, but the best classes for solo PVP (Witch Elf and Witch Hunter) struggle with a bunch of classes in solo PVP. They are almost never desired or wanted in endgame groups where you get the be…
Best solo pvp... i think you should be looking for mmos which have 1) Full PvP and 2) good and interesting 1v1 pvp.
Many pvp mmos can lean more towards a zerg style pvp. If the mmo concentrates too much on balancing for good 1v1 pvp, then you can …

Thanks! I guess you're describing Camelot Unchained. There are many fantasy elements planned but they haven't yet implemented them in the game. ....

More the better for me.More abilities/skills means more customisation and better roleplay in pvp. For example in Neverwinter Nights 2002, pvp allows you to hide, turn invisible in plain sight, timestop, dual wield, finesse your attack ability, wield…
Bookmarked. SImply because its a nice summary.
But... none of the open RvR offerings really appeal to me-- their artwork and also their top down perspective angle/aspect ratios is not really that engaging. There's a lack of a true "fantasy" element…

I would just use the $2 billion to take a really solid popular 2nd tier mmo like Champions of Regnum, and release it on 50 million servers with super server speed.
It sounds like you liked DAOC's and Shadowbane's styles. If so, you should really consider trying Champions of Regnum. Has the same style of combat and RvR as DAOC, with more updated gfx and artwork.
