Give Final Fantasy XIV a try. It is a quality MMO. Crafting, combat, storyline, and incredible music. So much to do in the game you should never get bored.
Expansions only break games that did not plan for the expansions from the start. Think of it like a long story arc, similar to lets say Babylon 5 or the newer Battlestar Galactica. And I do not just mean the storyline of the game, I mean planning …
From my perspective, one of the big problems, is the total focus on the destination rather than the journey. Instant level 100 potions being one of the grossest examples.
The scaling of the content really makes the game pointless. Why level if the content automatically levels up with you? I imagine you could never move and just keep killing the same mob over and over again as it would level up with you. Yuck.
The crafting was awesome; the best I have ever experienced in any MMO. Why a game publisher has never recognized the popularity of SWG crafting and tried to replicate it within a different license is a mystery to me.

Have the developers provided any updates on the type of crafting and resource system they plan to use?
Star Wars Galaxies was the best system I have ever played. Hoping we can see something like that in Pantheon.
