I've never met anyone in any MMO that has decided to quit because of the payment method or amount.
It's always based on them not enjoying the game anymore, for various reasons. As far as I'm concerned, the original sub amount is moot.
This whole article just feels like one huge rationalization. SwToR failed...face it.
And I really dislike the tendency on this website to push for the F2P model in MMO's. I prefer subscriptions, always will, and generally avoid MMO's that have gone…
Blizzard is no longer a company of enthusiastic and creative people...it's been taken over by the MBA's. Not interested in any more of their products, pretty much done with them.
Speak for yourself OP...I've been waiting for someone to do a PvP sandbox correctly for over a decade now.
Darkfall failed, Mortal Online failed, watching a few indie titles atm. In the meantime I play Warband Multiplayer and wait for the medioc…

5. F2P is Happening
Yes, It's happening`...but it doesn't mean that F2P will be or should be the standard of MMO models. F2P happens for the most part when games don't live up to the (overly optimistic) expectations of the developers. And honestly.…
The game industry needs an enema.
The bloated and top-heavy corporations that have taken over the industry and forsaken fun and interesting gameplay in favor of unimaginative clones with unnecessarily high production values really need to fail.
Great timing Trion...more than a year after the majority of the playerbase got fed up with the unfulfilled promises of better PvP, and left the game for good.
And adding this faction won't do a damn bit of good if they still have the same meaningl…
Make up your own mind, once you get a chance to see it for yourself. Realize that another person's opinion of something is based entirely on thier own values and preferences, and should have no bearing on your own decision.
Once this becomes clear…

They are judging the success of thier MMO by box sales and short term subscription numbers, which is a huge mistake. I think within a month or two they will understand what they did wrong, so lets hear what they have to say when the sub numbers fall…
I prefer Longbow/Greatsword with my Ranger. Those coupled with the snare trap and stun ability allow all the control you'll need - plus tons of damage from either weapon.
While I can't suggest an MMORPG that has those qualities, I can suggest a multiplayer RPG that has aiming combat and is very much player skill oriented. Mount and Blade Warband is intense FPS style medieval combat, is alot of fun until a decent MMO …
Now...if they redo the game in a graphical style that isn't aimed at 8 year olds, and make it a true 3d and not a top-down 2d iso view, I would consider it.
