The game looks beautiful. However, the combat still feels lifeless. If they would've added true weapon iron sights and more movement abilities, it would be fantastic. At the moment, it's just too limited.

I can't wait to play, but mainly for the single player. :hushed:

Tried the beta, I like the games but because of vision related issues, I can't play it. The Droids on the beta map blended perfectly into the terrain for me, I literally couldn't see them. As with other Dice games in the modern era, I can't distinguish the character models from the environment.

Hmm. So I guess it wasn't just me having that problem. I'm still going to play though since there will be plenty of maps without players being droids or I could be one of the droids myself if I am on the imperial side during a round.

That's what I was wondering about and thought I might have missed it. How is the single player? How is the overall story in the game?

Just tell us straight up; is is still P2W like it was in beta or not : )
  • WizardryWizardry Member LegendaryPosts: 19,332
You really cannot be taken seriously as a developer if incorporating p2w inside of pvp.
However having watched the pvp on Twitch there is some positives, albeit doesn't look good enough for me to buy the game or to want to play it.

The particle effects look good, the assets look good, lighting seems good as well, see the trend??
Looks over game play, never a winner with pvp because you are focusing on targets and not a tourist.
    Weapon choices..boring
I don't like seeing a class with booster packs hovering overhead, yes i do love and want to see z-axis but not like that,i want it built into maps with ONLY ground movement.

Pretty simple really,i see a spammy type combat ,yes i see some players using the assets to gain some cover but overall it is simply not good enough.

I was going to mention that as well,i did not enjoy a few pvp arena games over the years because i found this same problem.
Part of the reason is game/map design is usually NO effort.like ALL the lighting is bluish or ALL the surroundings have some other common lighting hue,it makes it very tough to see because there is few distinguishable colors to make each area of the map standout and look different.

As excited as I am for this game, I can't help but instantly think about how our last $60 should have been enough for a good game. Will probably wait for a sale, as I don't enjoy having to pay double for what we should have gotten the first time around.

I seen a few others agree with this, all this time i thought it was just me.

As a PC player in Australia, no server browser = no sale. After population starts to drop, not having a server browser made the first game pretty much unplayable. Not making that mistake again.

    If you insist...

For the article, it seems to be about a game that is neither a MMO nor a RPG. I would propose that it be covered on GameSpace instead.

Hey, you asked us to keep the topic to the article!

Absolutely disgusting p2w system with the star cards at beta. Unless they significantly change that i will drop this game like a hot potatoe.
