Kitfox Games has probably earned the weirdest game of the week title -- maybe even for the month...or year. In a new trailer, the team has revealed its new procedurally generated dungeon crawler called The Boyfriend Dungeon. In a nutshell, you run through randomly generated dungeons slaying monsters and so forth. But, when finished, you use your gold to...well...date your weapon. You can choose from four different weapons, each with its own gender and personality. Seriously, we can't make it up.

    This reminds me of Hatoful Boyfriend, just an actual game and not a visual novel. As weird as the idea is, I do like the fact that people are willing to try really weird and obscure things.

    One of these days, I hope someone puts loot boxes in a dating sim. 

    In that one case, my amusement at pulling naked anime women out of a lootbox will outweigh my disgust at pulling naked anime women out a lootbox.

    A friend of me said he played a game where you collect tanks and date them so this really weird concept seems to be more common then one would think. He talked a bit about buying his Panther a new dress...

    Seriously, people are weird.

    But we all know that dating your weapon is a really dumb idea, all talking or singing weapons have a bad personality and are incredible annoying no matter if they are from D&D, anime or some other silly fantasy.

    And, no, I don't see myself playing this game.

    WoW clone, Shadow priests were dating their weapons since the beginning of legion (I guess some demo warlocks and arcane mages too....if they're into that kind of thing). In all seriousness though, it doesn't look horrible. The gameplay kind of reminds me of shovel knight for some reason.
