    Many thanks to MMORPG.com & Cryptic for this giveaway. That Accelerated Officer Training Pack is a really nice bundle with nice upgrades every 10 levels if I'm remembering correctly. That new Tzenkethi Escort, Shuk-din, looks lethal & has really nice statistics. Good luck to everyone & keeping my fingers crossed.

    Real talk though to players who have played STO: what type of game is it like? I've never given it a shot, but my time is precious so I don't want to just "test something out" that isn't my type or a good fit.

    It is a Stark convention, Tony Stark from Iron Man will be there as will Ned Stark from GoT and George Stark from Stephen King's book The Dark Half.

    Real talk though to players who have played STO: what type of game is it like? I've never given it a shot, but my time is precious so I don't want to just "test something out" that isn't my type or a good fit.
    It started out as maybe the worst mmo I ever played.  It could only get better and it did, only very marginally better.  Its the only game that none of my gaming friends/organization are still playing and that's saying something since this is a large group of gamers.   None of them will also ever go back, because as it's been said, it is what it is.  In the beginning of June, a colleague at work tried it and when I came back from my vacation three weeks later, he had already stopped playing it and said, "its sad this is they associate with Star Trek."

    This right here. There is a reason the reviews for this game are bad. It didn't take me too long to figure out why.

    I've been playing this game on and off for the past month or so. I am debating whether I want to try something else before I dig into SWBF2. STO is meh, I keep waiting for it to hook me in but thus far all I find is pushing me further and further out to sea. I would steer clear of this game especially if you are expecting an immersive Star Trek feel/experience. I would rank it 3-4 out of 10.
