Sound Blaster is a name that’s almost legendary in the PC audio space, backed by an extensive range of sound cards, speakers, headsets and amplifiers that stretches back over decades. But how would the firm’s first pro gaming keyboard stack up in the highly competitive peripherals market? As an opening effort, the Vanguard K08 is a surprisingly capable and full-featured choice.

Creative should have given it a new name.  Yes, Sound Blaster is a very recognized name in PC peripherals but it doesn't fit a keyboard.  Unless the keyboard whistles Dixie while you type...

I gave up searching for a simple user review, seems every mention of this keyboard appears sponsored or partnered.Even when i tried to find a simple price tag,i got the run around with more hyped and trying to sell me other stuff like the SB mouse than actual prices.

So i'll go on the Creative site price of 140,i assume that is American, that is WAY too high.

Now i have a massive amount of experience with keyboards because i have bought MANY,all because i am good at spilling drinks on them.
If you subtract a few things like fancy lights ,a couple other things, this is basically identical to the common 15-20 dollar mechanical keyboards i tend to buy because i know i will spill on them. They are always the same, square rather stiff noisy keys.
    I have owned a couple Microsoft Ergonomic keyboards,way smoother,more quiet,just a better overall feel.
One of the best features that i actually care about is the lock button because i am constantly hitting the Window key,but i have these same options, including volume and the wheel on my cheap 59 dollar mechanical keyboard as well it is lit with variable lighting intensity.

IMO why don't the manufacturer's just put the common annoying keys we hit by accident out of our typing clumsy hands?Like put them up on the top ,far top corners not on the bottom.

Overall,i see no reason why this is 140 bucks, the rest is a cheap piece of plastic, the actual design is very cheap to make overseas, likely cost the manufacturer about 10 bucks to make.

Having looked it up Omron switches are what i expected ..made in Japan,so yeah overseas.Switches used to typically be from Germany,so i assume they have found an even cheaper manufacturer with distributors all over driving the prices up.

There's a huge difference in build quality between a $20 keyboard and a $100 one. Next time you're in Best Buy or similar, I'd suggest you take a look and try flexing them.

That's a membrane keyboard, not mechanical. Oh, and they start at $50

Key switches tend to cost 50 cents each at wholesale prices, possibly a little less. So your $10 build budget probably got you enough for the alphabet, and not the rest of a 109 key keyboard, aluminium baseplate, plastic bezel and frame, lighting, cables, packaging and software.

Omron is a longstanding Japanese automation manufacturer, specialising in the construction of industrial-grade components. They built the first magnetic stripe ATM, and the first electronic ticket gate. This isn't some cheap/generic third-party firm. Oh, and for that drinks spillage problem, this might help. http://a.co/aYslft1

Omron makes some of the best relays in the electronics industry, and are used on far more expensive equipment that a keyboard...
