A competitor to Chromebooks, not a full fledged laptop.

It does look pretty nice but i personally have no use for laptops running mobile apps only so i'll pass. Same reason i never got a chromebook.

This is not the Chromebook competitor. That one is coming soon with the Windows Cloud OS.

    https://mspoweruser.com/windows-10-s-officially-announced/

Surface will compete with Mac Book.

and I would want to use Windows Cloud OS instead of my existing Google cloud ecosystem with my Chromebook why exactly?

Why are you asking me about what you would use?

You really need to find something to do instead of trolling all post about Microsoft.

It is making you look really silly at this point.

that is the most evasive answer I have read today I think, a real strong sell on the Windows ecosystem there, confrontation really sells well.
and believe me the Microsoft ecosystem compared to google is going to need something to pull people in. I am not the only guy with special snowflakes and all who is tied into the google ecosystem. just sayin

A strong sell?   Were you in special ed or something?

Do I look like a Microsoft Rep?

Where am I trying to sell anything?

    LMAO, dude you have issues.

I'm not gonna get a Surface Laptop, I have a Surface Book already - Blueflap is in the windows store and is a pretty sweet browser.

Also, Edge is a pretty nice browser and you can change it to search via your search engine of choice, don't have to use Bing. But I will admit, I just use Edge for casual browsing (like mmorpg.com), and use Chrome for all work related internet needs.

Will this version of Win10 log keystrokes and treat you like a source of ad revenue instead of a customer?

to be fair everyone is doing that. not exactly a reason to use one over the other anymore

Please do not respond to me, even if I ask you a question, its rhetorical.

yes ABSOLUTELY but that is aside from the point.

usually when someone makes an OP and says something like 'they did it again' its kinda good to explain what exactly because i dont see the advantage like...at all

    of course you do!

what is the point of making an OP if you dont have to explain it, 'they did it again' ok I will take that at face value and say yeah they did it again, they created a laptop.

what does that even fucking mean?

Do you have a cell phone? You are already treated like revenue. The win 10 logging can be turned off, so it is not a big deal. They collected all that information before but NOW they actually told you what they were collecting.

I think it really means 'yeah they did it again another lame product'

but that is not the point, when you make an OP your job isnt to be as passive aggressive as humanly possible your job is to add insight

Wow music and no specs! This sure is proof of quality! Awesome video! Done it again!

They have several different specs in i5 and i7 models. SSDs in all of them obviously, HD or Intel Iris graphics cards,  generally good if your focus is drawing in mac users. It looks great, lots of wonderful business applications in many industries and many school type functions.

I do like surface models for their ease of use, but, I'll probably pass on this model.

you should not be posting OPs if you are not willing to explain yourself and want to take the attitude of 'well meaning of the words is all in the beholder' which of course simply a pile of horseshit. one might as well say 'becaue of elephants purple'

BUT I will say your tactic does tend to motivate me to say more rather than motivate me to say less so you have that effect going for you

I like the Surface and I think its another great product from Microsoft.

What I do not get is where does the hate come from?

What happened between you and Microsoft? If you are not ready to talk about it I understand.  =)

yes I can help with that

    1. By trade I am a programmer, one day at work I had a specific question related to .Net (which is a Microsoft Technology) I found myself searching on Bing, I wasnt really paying attention at the time at which search engine I was using but never the less I looked and looked and could not find a link that helped me. Then I tried google, it ended up being the first link. Bing could not find answers to a product that is owned by the same company as Bing! (understand by the way I use Microsoft Technology at work DAILY.....Net, SQL Server, ASP.Net and sometimes SharePoint.

    2. Xbox reveal was all about fucking sports.

the rest is not really anger bias but rather just plain old boring facts like .....Zune

This is just their Chromebook Pixel.

Google was smart enough to stop making Pixel as it didn't sell well.

Once again, MS is just late to the market. So sad.

yeah and they are in a position much like the phones where they will never be able to get ground. Once people are locked into a service that is working for them they are not going to switch for the same thing and the switch is what MS needs in order for the services to be attractive in the first place.

Bill Gates knew this, they lost their way over time.

That's where my "hate" is coming from though to be honest it's more disgust than hate in my part.

I have used Bing for years. I also just switched completely over to Microsoft Edge. It is at a point where I feel it can replace Opera. Ad-blocker stops the slow page loading on some sites. No longer have the scroll to top issue. And it always displayed pages better. Before I only used Edge to watch porn since I knew they were sending the data to the NSA.

I understand the "hate" for that but..  MS is desperately trying to bring everyone on to windows 10 so they can have a "single" OS on every device to aid in making money based on their app store, ads, etc.  "Single OS" as in windows 10 isn't really the "same" OS from one version to the next, but its still the same platform across XB, PCs and presumably the new Mobile OS.

They needed to severely streamline their OS's because in truth it was horribly fragmented.  There are people out there still everything from XP to 8.1.

Steve Gibson a computer security expert hates Win 10 with a passion.  He was in a podcast on Twit.tv that was very interesting.  Steve runs the GRC.com website.

Windows 10 S will probably be the safest version of Windows with the computer connected to the Internet. It's really difficult to install a virus when everything must be vetted by Microsoft first. I imagine with enough time getting viruses on this OS will be possible, but it really isn't as ideal a target as a standard copy of Windows is.

Windows 10 S. The S stands for spyware.

    More like Shit.

Seriously being forced to only use Windows Store apps and not being able to use Chrome or Steam etc....  its the shitties version of windows yet.

In the near future, we won't own our OS, it will be "Software as a Service". (think parking meter)

I read somewhere in Europe, they (the gov) wants to charge you for each browser search.

Auto manufactures are doing the same thing by putting a copyright on ALL parts and you will be forced to take your vehicle to the dealer for the simplest fix.

People need to wake up fast.
