For the barbarian edition at double the price ($60) https://blog.conanexiles.com/en/conan-exiles-pricing-special-edition-launch-time-cinematic-trailer-released/
seems one gets a t shirt, digital comic books (and some ingame items for the OTHER conan game 'Age of).
? but nothing useful for the actual conan exile game, just double the price to beta test (i.e. 'early access.')

looks like they are just trying to get people to play Age of Conan.  Where's the Conan Exiles in game stuff?

That's actually the way special editions should be done: T's, soundtracks, books for fans? All good. Extra content for the game itself? Cash grabbing day one shit that shouldn't cost extra.

I bought the barbarian edition and could care less about the stuff that is in AOC. I am glad there is nothing that goes in the game. The books and soundtrack that come with it are exciting and I guess the T shirt too. I am very happy with it its not like they are forcing anyone or giving some one an advantage.

    Fully agreed, @Iselin
I actually miss the days where most Collector's Editions would do that. Instead of this bullshit where you permanently miss out on in game items if you don't do open your wallet wide enough from the start. =/

My SWTOR referral link for those wanting to give the game a try. (Newbies get a welcome package while returning players get a few account upgrades to help with their preferred status.)

I would agree if the additional content, specifically the comics were hard copy. I understand they want to avoid the shipping and printing, but part of the allure of the old special edition/GOTY games was the physical item...whether it was a figurine from WoW, a compass from Tera or a Star Trek insignia from STO...they all included a tangible something, and those all included a physical artbook as well.  For another $30 bucks, they can send their digital artbook/comics to kinkos and ship me a hardcopy. Ima full growd man, dont need no t-shirt if'n I dont got no insignia to pin on it.

I remember the Fallout New Vegas collectors edition.  It was so packed with goodies.  Poker chips from the in-game casino's.  A full deck of cards with all of the characters in the game on them.  A "making of FO:NV" DVD.  A platinum poker chip for Lucky 7 Casino.  A hardcover graphic novel that filled in the background story of the area.  The full soundtrack.

What happened to those special editions from just a few short years ago?
