It seems odd that some people don't realize the depth of the character customization in Wildstar.

    Active abilities:

Because you have to choose 8 (or less) out of 30 skills it creates a lot more customization and differences between players than actually letting people use 30 skills at a time.  Limiting the amount of skills and forcing players to choose promotes different builds and playstyles. When getting attacked by a Warrior you have no idea which of the 30 skills and which tier abilities (T4, T8) he has chosen until you've seen him attack and seen the effects. In pretty much every other mmorpg you know almost exactly what you are going to face against. More is sometimes less.

Comparing this to GW2 is just stupid because in GW2 you are limited to two weapon lines with certain skills you are forced to use without any customization. Every Warrior in GW2 with bow has exactly same skills, that's stupid.

    Passive abilities:

The AMP system is filled with customization as well. You have six sections to choose from which have 4-7 passive ability nodes, 6-9 stat nodes, 0-1 active ability nodes (unlock) of which you can choose less than two fully or any sort of mix you desire.

The amount of depth WS character customization in terms of active and passive abilities is really deep and provides a lot more options and combinations than many other games including TSW.

Personally the only issue I have with the game is the limitation to two roles. I would've liked to see option to play all three roles as a single character rather than having to choose from two.

The problem is, all of the six classes get the same 30 skils to build with.... And except for the elder points.... There is no more character advancement at max level... Only gear progresssion..

the solution is simple... Add an AA system( and not an easy one to progress in) that gives access to more skills and passives... This will keep things more interesting as slowly your building tools for character keep changing over time...

You gain more ability points and AMPs in elder game and they will be raising the amount you can achieve as the game progresses. Capping these points - at the moment -  takes 10 months worth of weeklies (You can find them as drop aswell). There's plenty of character improvement to be done before you have maxed out the skills/amps for a single character. Somekind of an AA system _might_ be brought up in the future but I'm quite certain they'll just keep improving by adding more abilities/more amps while raising the elder gem cap.

    1) Mass PvP when 20 or more people of the ennemie side are together, the whole area around you turns red,  there is no way escaping the telegraphs or even telling which ones to escape and which ones are less important.... there even is no way in telling how many telegraphs are aimed at a certain spot.... and while i see no solution for the first part, the last step can be created by making areas with more and more overlapsing telegraphs darker and darker threathening red...

    2) There are still some quests that can not be shared , its anoying

    3) The main Quests (only the main and very important story telling questst... otherwise it would be overdone in this gaming type) should be fully voiced over, this would work rather well if the voiced over would be soaked in the humor we have seen in all the video´s. It would make a better game for everyone, and give immersion there where needed.. It would also be much easier to get involved in the main story

    4) The starter part on the ship....  it should be possible to skip it for 2nd and later characters in that Alliance...  repeating this time and time again feels mindboggling for alters..  The introduction to a game should be perfect with some of your best and fun to repeat content... this will chase off new players, as it did in Beta.

5)There are only 30 skills for each class... there currently is no way to add new skills... Here they make the same mistake that GW2 did.  Meaning there is not enough character differentiation and progression for the long run. The elder point system is far from enough... tough, an AA system that lets people improve skills even further and add new skills to your box would be truely a miracle for this game.

    6) Monthly content updates are a great thing... but only when they are the size of WoW like content updates and not the minor size of the GW2 living world updates..  i.e....  new areas to explore, new adventures to like, more dungeons to play (atleast one dungeon every patch) and new raids to keep everyone happy

They have pre prepared 16 months of conent updates under development right now, but will they be able to keep up with this scheme when the game is less succesfull then hope for or when they start running out of pre prepared content.

    7) Comletionists galore... there should be a way to go back to lower level zones to complete stuff you didnt get the time for... A mentoring system like in EQ2 is a must for every MMO in my book, because it also allows you to join your lower level friends or their lower level alts, and yet why do all developers forget about something like this....if a game supports level scaling, it can be implemented easilly..

    8) there is so many different types of content... that they feel spread to thin at release, with only 2 battlegrounds, 4 dungeons and 6 adventures at release.. People may feel there is not enough content of the type they prefer, while they level.

9)two sided PvP is something that should have been buried ten years ago (sure the background story is great, but that should be not a factor to limit gameplay)..  personally i am a big fan of player fraction based PvP... where players can like join  21 fraction which should battle it out...   which can be done in this game as an update...  with a new planet discovered far from the Exiles and Dominions, where free minded fighters can join one of the 21 sides...  with some kind of political system and options for factiosn to build alliances.. (it would work much like the Cyrodilll in ESO but then with 21 factions

10)Just having six classes is not enough on the long run... Many people love alting (espescially in raid game, when there are no raids) and six classes is just not enough... there should have been atleast 10 classes...  in my book, one more of the DPS/tank and DPS/heal... and then another two more defensive option of Tank/heal one of them more ranged and the other more melee..

So far these are my minor issues with the game, i hope they just can solve some of them over the long run.. Now we know they are planning monthly content upgrades... but do they also plan changes to the class system, so people can have more character customisation and progression.... No word on that yet....

But yet Elders Scrolls is ok ?

It will hurt them, and cost them millions over the long time, from players that would have liked the actuall game but never got past lvl 3 in beta

You can beat the starter area in less than 5minutes, this is not a real complaint sorry.  This isn't like ESO where the 'tutorial' took you 3 hours to beat.

If you actually tried both games, you would have known it´s actually the other way around.

When done once, the ESO tutorial can be completed very quickly on second/third/etc run through. As skipping cutscenes, it´s just a single flow through the tuturial that can be finished quickly.

Not so with Wildstar, where you have to Complete a ton of quests on the Ship which are boring as hell and time consuming. Especially around launch this will be terrible with all the spawn camping on sertain quest steps!

Anyone saying they can finish the entire tutorial ship in 5 mins are just trolling and never touched the game at all!

lol...so how come you are part of the excuse brigade over on the ESO forums but here for WS "It should have been done and tested long time ago..."????

This is nothing but a troll thread where you have basically collated all of the initial failings of ESO and spun them to apply to WS.

Like the usual suspects over on the ESO forum are sooooo fond of saying....a persons post history gives a huge insight into their real agenda....

Nothing to see here apart from a bitter ESO player trying to bash another game to make himself feel better about HIS game being so bad :)

100 posts from yourself about ESO and 3 about Wildstar by look of it

    Such delicious irony eh :)

ps. I dont think Wildstar is bad at all.

Personally i am hoping for a full fledged AA system some time after release..

Even WoW was supposed to have one (Hero system) but these developers never let it happen

Character progression is just as important as gear progression

Just have a look at the EQ and espescially the EQ2 AA systems

And you will probably realise what i mean.

The last statement is completely out of hand. You are doing the EXACT THING here that I've done with Elders Scrolls. Yet you attacked the person.

Yet, Elders Scrolls Online is a total known mess !....Millions have quit because of it !......Millions more never got past bata. People are finally catching on that batas rarely get fixed, it took years but people are catching on !

Your issues here with Wildstar WILL NOT GET FIXED.

Yes it is.... as is this game...  but it had a list of issues almost just as long.

No game is perfect, but we can allways hope ti improves...

And by the way, i am getting tired of everyone attacking the person and not the message.... shows some people need to grow up....

Your issues here with Wildstar WILL NOT GET FIXED.t

Now thats the difference between you and me...... No MMO game ever is a totall mess.... They all have issues, none MMO is perfect. Yet they almost all of them are worth playing for some time. And even the €50 boxprice and a sub.  If a game gives me a hundred hours of fun its a wellworth investment.

So unless you have to add anything meaningfull to the ten  issues i posted above, this discussion is over.

5)There are only 30 skills for each class... there currently is no way to add new skills... i disagree with u on all.. first of all it was beta.. BETA = a test to see what bugs and what things need change... and also the game has been changed alot lately. and 30 skills yes there are 30 skills only for each class. but its the same as wow.. u dont need more then 30 skills.. and u can't compare this to Gw2.. Gw2 had what 10 skills for each total.. which wasnt good. but WIldstar will suvive so many years and it will be fun

Warrior  tank/dps same skills only a few different.

Well if you don't like only 8 skills, then why play ?

Ya know, its OK to skip over an mmo now and then, you don't really have to play every one !

You want more skills and passives? I'm guessing you've been playing MMO's for a long time now but still you don't realize that the more abilities and passives you give to different classes that have different playstyles, the more difficult it will be to make a balanced game where all the classes are competitive?

Over and over I've seen unbalanced MMO's coming out, whether its in pvp or in pve and people rushing to level an OP toon. That spoils the game completely no matter how good it plays or how beautiful it looks like.

Wildstar doesn't have 30 abilities that you can use on a single fight but it makes up with movement skill. Dodge, sprint, double jump, these 3 movements mechanics will make a huge difference in combat if you master them no to mention the tweaks you can do to them through AMPS.

Other MMO's all you could do is stand there and use your abilities alone, no other way to avoid attacks or close gaps. Therefore, you had 30 abilities or so to use. As a result, you always had a highly unbalanced game where patch after patch there would always be an OP class.

Did you even read what i said?

The issue is not with only 8 skills, because that is basically set in stone and will never change, its a proven thing that allready worked well in games like EQ and GW1....  The issue is with 30 skills that you choose from, and where youa re stuck with for the rest of the game...    One of the most fun parts of an MMO is aquiring new skills and finding ways to use them in my set-ups.  In Wildstar it currently looks like you are stuck with those 30 skills for quite some time....

Not really, you can also use the new skills you add as a ballancing mechanic....  and the more skills you add, the more different builds become viable, combined with  the standard rock/paper/scissors ballancing this gives people reasons to create new builds to counter the so called flavour of the month builds..

Ballancing has never been about making all classes and builds just as strong... because that is virtually impossible..   adding more stuff will actually be benneficially to the ballancing...
