Is the ips worth the extra $ over the norm lcd? I also have no idea what a pls panel is.

The cheaper monitor is cheaper for a reason:  markedly worse image quality.  That might bother you or it might not, so whether one of the others is worth the extra money is a matter of opinion.

Even if you're not going to use Eyefinity anymore, I'd highly recommend keeping at least one of the old monitors around, as running multiple independent monitors is really nice for a lot of purposes.  Of course, you were likely already planning on doing so.

thanks quiz, yea image quality is an issue for me.  Unsure which is better out of the ips or pls (same price) I have already sold 2 of my monitors and keeping the third for that reason (I like watching movies/ browsing while crafting etc).

BBasically PLS is Samsungs version of IPS that they claim is better. Most reviews would argue the tech itself is not superior but rather certain panels that use the tech are.

ty, I am leaning more towards the samsung, I have never really been a fan of LG as a company is it norm for monitors to not have dvi now and only hdmi?

I'm looking at this maybe for my next monitor, well for my wife actually.

    LG 34UM95 34" Ultra Widescreen

Brenics ~ Just to point out I do believe Chris Roberts is going down as the man who cheated backers and took down crowdfunding for gaming.

Yeah. DVI is pretty well dead. HDMI and DisplayPort are the new standards since both can support higher resolutions without needing dual cables.
