"Coming in Future Updates" Interesting

Justice System- Steal and kill NPC's and deal with the consequences if you are caught......Wow, that looks like a nice addition to the game. I wonder if this will be added to the game with the Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild.

Armor dying and tinting....... That should make people happy.

Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood Storyline and quests... As mentioned above.

Spellcrafting... That one sounds fun

Imperial City PVP dungeon..... This one tops the list in my opinion.

Horse Racing.... Interesting

Increased ability to pick up items in the world...I have been saying this forever.  I hate when I see items in an area, but I can only loot some of them.. It destroys the immersion.

Two new veteran dungeons....Crypt of Hearts and City of Ash... I am not yet there, but i am sure many will like this addition.

European Megaserver to European Datacenter.  European playerbase should be happy here.

There are more items on ESO website, but I liked these items.  I like the way the game is going.  Great job Zenimax.  Better keep adding content or people will get bored. Just a fact of MMORPG's.

Love this idea, but with the number of issues already with the number of phasing issues already reported for the game, I'm surprised they'd even attempt something like this. Although every single Elder Scrolls game has prevented me from completing it on my first play through due to "freedom", so it would be nostalgic if ESO did the same.

Seems like they are trying to keep as many subscriptions as they can by releasing this list now. These items may not be released in a working state for many months but I can see why they would release a list of the items that should have been in game at launch to try to keep people from unsubscribing.

"Please don't leave we are going to add all this stuff....at some point....in the future..."

People will drink the cool aid like usual and resubscribe for 1-2 more months before realizing that they fell for the same trick with the last big MMO release. You will see them in the same line waiting to play Wildstar to do it all again.

These comments are strange to me.

Are you saying you would rather wait another year to play so they could put this content into the game rather than be able to jump in now and start playing with what they have available? If so, why don't you just quit and come back in a year? That way you get what you want and I get what I want :)

And please do not reply with "but there are so many bugs! They shouldn't release it with all these bugs". You didn't mention bugs, you were talking about available content.

And this would be a good example of why companies are charging people to play in a beta as the standards are getting lower each and every year as to what an acceptable game release is. Before too long people will just pay full price for the game launcher or a premium price for the launcher with colors on it and that will be acceptable to wait until the rest of the game is added.

    "Before too long..." ?

Lol, we passed that point years ago. There are several Kickstarter game projects wher you can pay 4 or 5 times the release price of the final game just to be "part of the alpha phase". And that's months before the alpha even starts...

So does "spellcrafting" means they are going to overhaul the entire skill lines except for weapons? Which directly affect the classes, because they only have spells as active abilities too.

So i paid a month for playing on us megaserver and now they decided that their game runs like crap and build a european server.

    Top immature job.

Not paying a a cent. They managed to destroy my first experience with the game pretty well.

    Waiting for archeage

You do know that they already have an EU Megaserver? They have had it up and running since the last beta weekend before launch I believe. What they are going to do, is move it to their European data centre. Meaning all the characters and progress of anyone using the EU Megaserver (that has been up and working since before the game launched I repeat) will remain, you'll just experience much better latency and have less lag issues. In theory.

Now should the EU Megaserver have been using the European data centre from the beginning? You bet. But that doesn't mean you're going to lose any of your progress if you picked that server the first time you played.

    1. A lot of that stuff should have been in at launch. I think it will be too little, too late.

    2. That list is just a carrot to stem the tide of unsubscribers...honestly, don't expect to see much of that stuff for months, moreover, dont expect to see much of that stuff working properly for many, many months.

    3. They need to focus on getting the core game working as advertised and stable before throwing more wood on the fire.

The sour bitching here about a really interesting set of additions to the game illustrates everything that is wrong with this forum.
  • DAS1337DAS1337 Member UncommonPosts: 2,610

While those are welcome additions, you missed some other very important ones...

A system that allows grouped players to see each other even if they are in different phases!  HOW COULD YOU MISS THIS ONE!?  This is one of the biggest gripes for most players right now, AND it's the very first bulletpoint!  LOL.  This is huge.

FOV adjustment.  This is really important for players who want to see a little more, as well as those players who like to use 1st person exclusively.

Guild insignia's, tabards and ranks.  All customizable!  Something new called guild kiosks.  These will be PUBLIC guild auction houses that will be available to the highest bidding guilds.  This is a big deal here as well.

The other stuff is all great, but that first bulletpoint is probably the most important addition of all.  And if anything should have been in at launch, it's that one.

  • ohioastroohioastro Member UncommonPosts: 534

    Another significant item....

    ----------------------------------------

We recognize that some of the launch issues—especially black market botting and spam, de-synced quests, and the disappearing bank slot bug—affected the early gameplay experience of a number of players. Fixing these problems required us to take the megaservers offline, costing players time in the game. In recognition of this experience and to show our gratitude to everyone who supported the launch, we are giving an additional five days of included game time to every ESO player who set up an active account prior to 8pm EDT Thursday May 1st and who are currently enjoying their 30 days of included game time. If you’re eligible to receive the five additional days, a confirmation will be sent to your account’s registered email address. For further details, please visit help.elderscrollsonline.com. This is a small gesture to show our thanks for being part of the ESO community while we work to make this extraordinary game and service even better.

I have to admit, Zenimax appears to be taking a few logical steps here considering their bad start, plus the additions to the game are unique and interesting, along with a few heavily desired mainstays people are getting used to in other MMO's.

It's sad that they still haven't mentioned anything about housing.  A lot of MMO'ers don't understand the need for it, but a lot of ESO'ers would love it.  Assuming it's done well.

It looks like the extra 5 days is only for those who have not cancelled their subs yet.  The good news is if you resub by 8PM EDT today you can get the extra 5 days.

You should try the game.  It's weird that someone would post so many negative comments about a game they haven't played.

The "upcoming features list" that ZOS published is not aimed at the handful of professional cynics that specialise in seeing the negative side of everything ZOS does. It's aimed at normal players who realise that "during the rest of 2014" does not in fact mean "next month".

Pffft...I spent a fair few hours round at a rl friends house checking out the beta and *almost* bought it. I was on the fence having purchased three or four new games around the time ESO launched so thought I would wait and see how the first month panned out. I have 6 rl friends in my close social / gaming circle who have all been playing mmorpgs along with me for over a decade and I trust their opinion.

All 6 have of them have chosen not to sub after the free month and we have discussed the games pros and cons ad nauseum...judging by their feedback plus the public clusterfuck that the games launch has turned out to be I made the right choice.

That doesnt mean I don't get urked by the shameless white knighting and bizarre level of fanboyism that goes on around here though where the ESO-Mafia rip apart anyone who has issues with the game, try to imply the myriad of issues and bugs / hacks / bots / poor design decisions / poor customer service etc etc do not exist, are made up or are the product of some hate campaign instead of being real issues experienced by real paying customers.

I am sure I will try it at some point as I have played all the other ES games plus FO3...maybe when I have a blank window in my gaming schedule, probably once it goes F2P....far too busy beta testing WS and dieing in DS2 right now though :)

  • ohioastroohioastro Member UncommonPosts: 534

If you don't play a game all of your opinions about it are second-hand and second-rate.  There are all manner of things that aren't to my tastes and that I wouldn't like; for example, there is absolutely nothing about Wildstar or Archage that interests me.  I don't go to those forums and tell people that they're blind fanboys and white knights and general idiots for being interested in them.

There is a place for general comments that put things in perspective, but when people start speaking as if they've experienced things that they didn't then they're playing a far less defensible role.

Just out of curiousity what MMO had all these feature in at release, hell what MMO has all these features in Now? Certainly not EQ, or WoW so how have standards dropped when most of the bug name MMO's that have been out for years still don't have 50% of these things and still have bugs years after release.

I Look forward to hearing about these MMO's I've evidently missed because I'm sure your just not hold TESO up to some mythical standard of a MMO in your mind that doesn't actually exist

  • venatsvenats Member Posts: 106

Those are the same promises they made during beta, with some additions of other things they are adding. Seeing as how none of the promises since then have happened, I won't hold my breathe on these hold-tactics until something actually comes of it.

They promised FOV about two months+ ago to the public, same with the playing with friends... I'm not going to pay 15$/mo to wait for the game to be fixed while skill and combat bugs persist unfixed, untouched, and without acknowledgement.

I agree with you.  It make lot more sense for someone that doesn't play a game and who has never played a game to dedicate a decent amount of time to criticizing the game.  It's crazy to think that any of the thousands of people playing the game like it and would like to post about liking it.

Just think.  If you didn't spend time in forums for games you don't play you wouldn't have to see the shameless white knighting and bizarre level of fanboyism.  But who would put the fanboys in their place if not you?  No one.  Keep fighting the good fight.
