1) Making leveling interesting.

2) Rewarding going off the beaten path and exploring.

3) Making pvp matter.

4) Making a good old fashioned MMORPG instead of the guided tour theme park we've come so used to accepting.

5) Having a box + sub to keep all the whiners out.

6) Ignoring the self-indulgent public opinion.

Those are all very valid and relevant reasons to applaud Zenimax!!

I agree with all of this. Now, Zenimax has to deal with the very legitimate gripes of some players and do it a timely fashion. It would be a shame to let all the good they've done be marred by poor customer service and a lack of responsiveness at launch.

Keeping the whiners out of the comunity is almost worth the box price+sub alone, lol!

Op nailed it for me, thanks Zenimax!
  • Hold on, what?  A box  + sub keeps out whiners?

When did this start happening?  EQ and DAOC and WoW kept out whiners?  Am I living in bizarro world?

    Don't answer that last question.

    That was my thought.

    Didn't happen with FFXIV:ARR

For making a true RPG game worthy to put the letters RPG back into MMORPG!

Nice intro. You kept the tension going in your subject title ;)

    I was prepared for anything

    But I agree

Guys did you look at ESO's rating ? It's destroying the competition!

Could we finally have our WoW killer ?

Thank you ESO for gathering all the entitled people so they can take another, inevitable, thwack from reality when ESO inevitably goes B2P or full F2P ( not hating on the game but with this community I have no regrets not investing in the game ).

Of course EQ, DAOC and WoW had whiners, they have been stuck in the same pile of crap for the last how many years?

    Don't answer that last question.

The title "WoW Killer" is more like a curse in the MMO industry.

1 ) Not the first MMO to change the leveling grind.

2 ) It's not rewarding when you are pretty much forced to, unless you want a gimped character.

3 ) Not the first MMO to make PVP matter

    4 ) Just a reiteration of 1.

5 ) Just not true. P2Pers whine just as much as F2Pers.

    6) Also not true, Zenimax has made multiple changes based on public opinion.

    Don't answer that last question.

Well it's always been a myth that all the whiners are children. And that all those children can't afford a box price or a sub. But the truth is most of the whiners are adults, and adults like to whine. I am reminded of this fact every day at work...

I don't think anyone said it was the first MMO to do that. If someone gives me $5 and then the next day someone else gives me $5 do I not say thank you? Should I say "you're not the first person to give me $5!! Way to be a copycat!'.

How you compare paying a company 60 to 80 dollars to someone giving you 5 bucks is beyond me. A company earning the money they want to earn for their work isn't the same as some stranger giving you free money. Also, the terms interesting and matter don't mean they are better or worth money either.

    You're not intelligent, mate.

All they meant was you can't get enough of a good thing... and you've gone mental over the semantics and the literal meaning instead of simply knowing that it's an ANALOGY!

Let's try another for you... if you BUY a burger and it tastes great because of some special sauce they are using.. then you BUY one from somewhere else that tastes just as good because they are using the same sauce.. do you say the second one wasn't as good?

I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.

Could not agree with you more! Very happy customer. Bugs are annoying, but they are stamping on them fairly quickly.

I may try it when it is on sale or dirt cheap. I didn't see anything Bam Bam! about it. Glad someone is enjoying it though.
