Read the post I quoted....does he mention any of that? Nope....and snipping the post i quoted doesn't hide it.....he said social interaction and charecter progression only....hence my reply...

I realise you are offended for some unknown reason, but if you are going to quote me to prove some point that I never disagreed with, at least reply with the correct context.

Well this is my package and I'm certain you don't have a game for me that matches this one. I'm with them, animations are low on the scale for me. If you don't consider all the gear, weapon, and skill choices progression what is progression to you?

Why do you feel the need to debate thing I never said or implied? Honestly....please..for the love of god, go read the exchange that you quoted.

He said he plays MMOs for social interaction and charecter progression, not for smooth combat, animations, and good UI. I then stated that there are MMOs out there with smooth combat, good animations, clean UI, as well as social interaction and charecter progression, so why settle for less?

At what point did I say ESO didnt have charecter progression, or care/debate what your total package is????? For all you know, I agree with you...i havent said anything implying otherwise....you need to relax a bit on forums bro lol.

I don't need to do anything but see you define character progression without using skills, gear, or weaponry. Then when we are done with that you can tell me how "ignore, guild functions, and being rewarded for healing" are not related to social interaction.

Why are you talking as if I said ESO didnt have charecter progression or social interaction??.....why are you ignoring every one of my replies?? You need to read...thats R-E-A-D. ESO has TONS of charecter progression and social interaction....why are you still talking as if I EVER implied otherwise????...LMAO This is honestly getting scary :/

Tha doesnt have any bearing on my previous comments, so I would rather not get into that exchance.

Maybe, but those games might lack other features that ESO excels at, like immersion, environment, exploration and story/lore.

I'm sure they do. That's not what the poster I quoted said though...

the big issue with those who are complaining about ESO is that they were expecting skyrim online. Its not it is an mmo. I spoke to a few hardcore TES fans and they didnt like the game. YET they did not post a bunch of crap about it. The animations are bad. ect ect...honestly i have seen FAR worse animations from games that are less then 2 years old. If you do not like the game then do not play it, Alos we need to keep in mind 99% of the people complaining never had any intrest in buying the game its just the free beta crowed trying to give the game a bad name. ...funny thing is ..its not out yet and i know they got a couple heavy patches they wil be putting in before launch.

Actually, true for a lot of people, most I know, that's for sure.

Like they mentioned, by 10 you have more skills than you had at lower levels and some you probably have had a chance to morph. Here's how eventful it can be. One skill I had for CC at level 1 was 5 second duration. At level 2 of the skill it was 12 seconds of CC - quite a difference. Another one - I had a self heal that returned 30% of the damage to myself in a heal. The morph for that skill I turned into a skill that does the 30% damage returned in a heal still but it now heals me AND two allies. All of a sudden I can heal other people while doing damage. Does that change things?

Things like that make the game change a lot as you go. You build expands with you and you make choices. Maybe you don't make the "right" choice and you will have to respec but that's not in the build the weekend warriors were testing.

Could you gimp yourself? Ain't nothing stopping you - there are lots of skill lines and no rules, you can slot and train whatever you want and morph it however you want - there was just no going back in this build so if people made mistakes they paid dearly and had little way to rectify it without putting in more game time leveling other skills.

Then there is the ultimate skill that you don't get until later so level 1 you don't even have an ultimate at all.

Another thing is the weapon swapping. It doesn't let you have that second weapon to swap during combat until you are at level 15 so that's an entire set of skills that you can switch to then.

The gear in the game can be altered A LOT. As you improve your gear you improve your stats and things like increased Magicka or Stamina will increase the damage on skills that rely on it. Now, you are able to alter the dmg of skills just by finding or crafting better gear.

In the starting areas they kind of guide you, the one I was on was an island so I deviated but it wasn't nearly as free until I could move from zone to zone, even places I knew were too high for me. I didn't leave the starting area until level 6. Only after that could I change zones and wander around to places that were going to get me killed.

The other thing that can be tough to learn is that there are quest arrows but you don't have to follow them. The problem is that from other games when you see a quest you do it, that's the way to grow your character.

Let me tell you something I found out tonight - I did a quest to capture 4 guars that I had to find in a town. That quest netted me 104 experience. Guess how much experience I got opening a chest? 84 for a simple one and 100 for one above my level. If you wanted to roam around collecting crafting materials and opening chests for loot which are hidden all over and respawn fairly quickly, you could. Also there are these champion mobs that give an achievement when beaten, good experience, and good loot. You don't have to be quest driven but people are used to that so they follow the quests and they feel railed but they put themselves on rails by following the arrows one after another without thought. That may change if people have the courage to try the game without quest markers or only turn them on when they are really stuck. They are testing a build with them being optional but again, that wasn't open to the weekend testers.

Levels are slow in the game. It's not a 15 minute journey to 10. It's something to savor and only level as a sideline. Because people aren't progressing quickly like other games where anything under 20 is all for practice they get concerned that the game hasn't given them enough but it's giving it to them slower so they rush from arrow to arrow nexting without thought then wonder why it seems tedious. They are doing it this way because that's what they know from other games.  That's the process, follow quests - don't deviate. Deviating here nets you rewards too including loot you only find from deviating like recipes and special drops. There are things like books that you find too that instantly give you a skill up in something and the skyshards where 3 give you a skill point. The quest rewards are not those things generally. For quest reward it's usually gold or gold and gear. It's nice enough but I'm lvl 12 and still not wearing a helmet or shoulders so no quest has given them to me. That would be something I could craft or buy but I'm not spending that amount of time doing the crafting on it when I can just roll without them. In the real game of course I would try to get a complete set of gear. I'm partially gimping myself but I only get 3 days here.

It gets advancingly harder too. We've been told by some of the people in the 50+ content areas that if you don't block at the right time some mobs will nearly kill you in a single shot. This means that we all need to be good at combat by the time we hit max level or it will show in repair bills.

nice! Game is, well, interesting. Not thrilled with the animations but I keep on playing, I do like the ability to move wherever I want. I stopped of at a local WaWa and grabbed a Hoagie, j/k. Seriously, I see incredible depth in this game and the need to learn your skills. Dodging is tough, I usually get my ass kicked with two on one but then I've never been one for that sort of stuff,

Au Contraire. I've been trying to explain to you that character progression and social interaction are different in different games. That constitutes what I labeled a package. Since someone cannot receive the same package for those two items from another source and have the things that you consider an upgrade, they cannot take your advice and just find another "one of these" with animation in a different way. This thing is different and animation does not beat this package. If you can't see that then why keep trying to make you understand. You've insulted me twice and been sarcastic, why shouldn't I respond to you with a little fun. I'm not explaining it to you again. I already had to explain to you why I brought up those line items in relation to the comment that you claimed was out of context. It was expanding on two terms in a way that went line by line.

Here's an example again in human terms.

Why date that person, this person has arms and legs like an athlete.

But they are different, I like talking to this one and we have fun together.

But if you learn to like this other person and learn to have fun with them you can have athletic arms and legs.

See - it's you who wants the athlete, others want the package.

You can? How can you know that if it is your first time playing it. Is it by the amount of scorpid workers you kill or the boars? Is it from the ability to use 3 o4 skills? Maybe the way you have to wait until level 10 to start using the talent tree? I personally don't see what your are speaking about in the animations. Games start out slow and progress for a reason.

No, if you were to start playing WoW today for the first time you would have the same feeling you would when you first started Rift or any game like it. All game releases are boring the first few levels. We have learned though that if we keep up with them they get better. That is what people are trying to say here about ESO, but it's easier for people like you to give the generic statement Ender4 gave above.

Death is nothing to us, since when we are, Death has not come, and when death has come, we are not.

Tried the game and like every other MMO since FFXI, EvE, and WoW are utter GARBAGE! The game is empty, bland and boring worst ES series I've ever played!

Below is where we can disscuss and come up with new ideas for Sandparks!

Maybe you should read other threads on this subject first or play to lvl 10 to figure it out. Just saying.....

I don't know what this reading thing is, can you tell me a game where it's animated well so that I can understand it.

And thus, you finally scrolled up and saw that I never said ESO didn't have charecter progression or social interaction, and rather than come clean about your incorrect argumentative assumptions, you respond like a 4 year old. I would expect no less here lol.

Au Contraire. I've been trying to explain to you that character progression and social interaction are different in different games. That constitutes what I labeled a package. Since someone cannot receive the same package for those two items from another source and have the things that you consider an upgrade, they cannot take your advice and just find another "on of these" with animation in a different way. If you can't see that then why keep trying to make you understand. You've insulted me twice and been sarcastic, why shouldn't I respond to you with a little fun. I'm not explaining it to you again.

I can't believe that you are still sticking with your false belief that I said ESO didnt have charecter progression or social interaction....this is getting ridiculous...I think I should stop getting baited into this exchange with you lol.

I believe you lost no matter what the debate was. I didn't read the entire string of events, but read her last sentence. /shrug

Don't wait till 10. I love the game and I've never seen 10 yet. This game is a true breath of fresh air for me(for me) I love it and the people I'm playing with love it. We ran a dungeon last night at level 7(it was for lvl 10 and up) and we got stomped by the first boss. I can't remember stepping into a dungeon below level, it was awesome. I really don't understand what all the QQ is about, I guess its about not getting what you want right now and hating on a game for it. I'm so glad its nothing like the wow crap we've played for the last 10+ years.

So if you like it play it, if you don't then go play what you like. Its not for everyone and we all know this but for some reason people feel the need to complain just because THEY don't like it.

What does this have to do with the OPs question?

Death is nothing to us, since when we are, Death has not come, and when death has come, we are not.

And this is the problem. People join ESO thinking its going to be skyrim online. ITS NOT EVEN CLOSE! they had to change a lot of things to make it online friendly..imagen if you went to town only to find every npc dead. >> really this is kind of getting old.

    Not true at all.

Actually, true for a lot of people, most I know, that's for sure.

My guess is those people just quit the game if they don't like how the game feels at the beginning.  Not exactly what I was referencing.

I've played plenty of games where the opening few levels were dull, and came to love them as the game progressed.  In fact, I'd say most themeparks work this way.  Maybe it's not an ideal model to follow, but that doesn't make it any less true.

I pushed through past 10 and it got better, but still not good enough. Dungeons and PvP are a welcome change from the terrible dialogue, questing and courier quests, unfortunately the combat at its core is just boring. The combat animations and spell effects are also incredibly bad. So yeah, does it get better? Sure, if you just want to end the terrible quests, but if you don't like the combat it won't get better.
