Wildstar or ESO?

It's gonna be one of them.

What say ye?

I've played ESO and it was badass. They look to be pretty different games though.

Usually I'd say both, but I am going to use any extra cash I have to purchase anything I can unlock for ESO. Wildstar will have to wait its turn, unless it comes up with a sly way of having Zenimax lock up Wildstar so I have to purchase it from them to play. If that happens then I'll have to sell a baby.

None, until they are out long enough to know exactly in what I'm involving myself in and for what exactly I would beinvesting my time in the long run.

More interested in Wildstar because of housing.  If I still have time to game when it finally rolls out, that's the one I'm more interested in.

    Both.

I am going to buy both and play both. The real factor will be the staying power - in other words, which one will I stay subscribed to for longer? Just speculating, but I am going to say Wildstar...

Hmmmmm....think I'm gonna have to go Wildstar.  Not impressed by ESO in the beta...didn't feel Elder Scrollie enough for me. The combat is fun though and the graphics/art is pretty decent though.   Honestly, I'm probably going to play Wildstar till EQN comes out, then jump ship, and then cross my fingers and hope Pantheon gets made so I can hop from EQN to it.  I have my MMO schedule planned years in advance. Lol.

Both.  But I already know Wildstar is going to be my go-to game when it's all said and done.

Well, ESO looks absolutely amazing but I worry about the strong use of cutscenes and interactions that it will kill the flow of the game like it did with Star Wars.  I also worry about the combat mechanics in a non-rpg setting.  Is it going to transfer to MMO play without being cumbersome and unintuitive.

Wildstar has a list of great gameplay features that are appealing to me but it just looks SO VERY VERY WOWISH.

I guess I shouldn't be afraid of WoW Fixed but is it worth the effort?

    Still torn...

Wildstar, I enjoy the less serious tone of the game and I want a raiding game. If ESO ever goes F2P I'll definitely pick it up to scratch my RvR itch until CU comes out.

Listen to this guy he's right it is badass. They are totally different games. I played the both. ESO is hella fun Wildstar fells like a PS3 Action Platform game. "Ratchet and Clank" the MMO or " Jak and Daxter" had a baby with "Free Realms"

Not even close.  Wildstar is more akin to a cross between Guild Wars 1 and TERA / Neverwinter, in terms of limited hotbars and action combat.

ESO feels more like a console game, because it was primarily designed that way, fewer skills and pseudo-aiming.

Wildstar almost depends on how much you loved/hated GW2, because it's pretty much...

Both. Not sure how good the combat is in TESO. I like the Tera like aiming reticule - not sure I like the 'fudge factor' where your arrows curve a little. I think Wildstar wins but TESO looks to be a high quality game made by a top notch gaming company.

ESO looks like a pretty great online roleplaying game but Wildstar is a real deal MMO IMO.

Its nothing like GW2 at all really.  Its core design is classic WoW with a few new additions.  Its combat uses actual aiming like TERA, and doesn't feel floaty at all like GW2.

If you're into heavy PvE such as raids, dungeons, and group content up the wazoo, then you're definitely wanting to go with Wildstar.    TESO has no raids and the group content of the game seems light as best for PvE (most of it's tucked away into Cyrodille for PvP).

As for crafting, for TESO I've noticed that armor types are tucked into race type (thus part of the whole debacle with the Imperial limited to the CE, only they are able to make/use Imperial armor).  Not sure about the rest of crafting, but assume it's something like Skyrim/Oblivion.

Wildstar's crafting system is pretty extensive.  They have all the basics such as armor crafting, weapon crafting, cloth crafting, and so on, but they also have Architecture to build player housing additions.   And of what will be in launch is Cooking and Gardening (planting seeds found in the game's zones in your garden on your housing plot), they're already working on post-launch Fishing as another fun distraction.    And not sure if you've seen the videos, but they've shown videos of how some gathering nodes can come alive and attack a player or have a hidden wormhole underneath them into a different area.

The cartoonish and bright colored style in Wildstar is definitly not my cup of tea. The same reason kept me away from WoW. But I'm happy for those who enjoy them. In my case it's gonna be ESO. Even if it is a bit different from Skyrim, I'm not missing the chance to explore Tamriel and I already preordered it.

And I do have another reason not to play Wildstar : NCsoft!. Ever since they pulled the plug of my beloved CoH and the way they did it, I vowed not to play a game published by them ever again. I simply don't trust them anymore.

What are you talking about GW1,Tera,Neverwinter are all Fantasy MMORPG's WILDSTAR is a SYFY set in a futuristic world MMORPG similar to if "Ratchet and Clank" or "Jax and Daxter" crossed over to the MMO genre. You have it backwards by your own analogy GW1,Tera,Neverwinter are from the same hack and slash Fantasy mmorpg genre just like ESO and boast the same limited hotbar aim action combat. I don't think you've played either ESO or Wildstar. Wildstar is filled with action platform combat shallow gameplay you see games like "Ratchet and Clank" it has an announcer that tells things like "Multi-Kill" "Triple-Shot" "Head Shot" "Challenge Mode!!!" echoing through out the game. GW1,TERA or Neverwinter  don't have that nonsense.

Huh?  It's nothing like GW2.  Those two things have one thing and only one thing in common:  The combat and the limited skills on the action bar.  That's it.  End of comparison.  The two games are polar opposites in every other way.  ESO is far more like GW2 than Wildstar is.
