Torchlight 2: Steam Offers Folks a Chance to Try It for Free

Steam is offering potential players a chance to try out Torchlight II for free this weekend. From now through 1:00 pm PDT (4:00 pm EDT), players can give the game a try and, if so desired, can buy it for a mere $5.00.

In addition, the Torchlight II team will be participating in this Saturday's Indie Showcase and giving away lots of goodies to boot.

    a free trial to a $5 game ? Gamers have become F'ing cheap.

    Mods made this game so much better and worth way more than 5 bucks.

    @DamonVile, even if it cost $1, free weekendsis a smart practice to attract buyers. More people  should do that with their services. Steam proved it works.

    I tried and couldn't get any mods installed, seems to be little support or info about the new modding system on their forums.  Game is mostly dead and forgotten.

    Considering it hasn't been that long since the Holiday Sale ended (a little over a week), and a lot of users have spent quite a lot of money on many different games already. Potential players would need some added incentive to be more likely to purchase more games for a little while. :P
