TES Theme... Which is your favorite version?

Pratt2112Pratt2112 Member UncommonPosts: 1,636

All in the subject.

Of all the versions of the TES theme, which is your favorite? And, if you wish to share, why?

For me, it still goes to Morrowind, no question.

For some reason, that version just sets the tone of the game so wonderfully. It has this "somber" quality that just seems perfect for the setting and tone of that game, to me.

Just to be clear, I'm referring to the music, not necessarily the game itself - although if the music enhances the experience of the game in some way, then that certainly counts :)

Morrowind for me as well. I love the atmosphere of the world.

Morrowind easily. I could explore for hours and hours listening to it.

May not be official (yet) but it's pretty damn good...and the singer is easy on the eyes.

Whoops had to quickly edit my post because I just realized you were talking only about music lol. I liked Skyrims the best.

Skyrim for me. The chanting Nords do it for me.

IMO its oblivion. not saying that just to be different but i actually think that's one of the best music scores in any game i have played.

especially adding in the commentary and voice acting at the beginning from Patrick Stewart aka jean luc picard? NERD HEAVEN! lol

For me the Skyrim theme gets me everytime. Although, I feel Oblivion's theme is far more majestic, but it lacks the robustness that the nordic choir adds for the Skyrim theme.

Played Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim.  Tried Daggerfall but didn't get very far because of hardware problems.

By far my favorite is Morrowind.  The music just fit with the creepy alien world feel.

Hm, its a tie between Morrowind and Skyrim. I like the "original" from Morrowind, but I think I like a Nord chanting version of Skyrim a tad more. It sounds so forceful. ^^

Daggerfall (remastered): I have VERY fond memories of the game. ^^ First game to ever feel like a real world.

Morrowind: probably THE most recognized ES theme

Oblivion: also not bad at all

    And Skyrim of course:

I still recall when I first saw the first Morrowind trailer, and boy... I was almost crying, so happy I was. It was a true breakthrough in gaming and a milestone you see only a few times in life as gamer.

I'm with ya here. The, as Todd said, "Barbarian Men's Chorus" that trips my trigger :)

Personally the only modern MMORPG trend that annoys me is the idea that MMOs need to be designed in a way to attract people who don't actually like MMOs. Which to me makes about as much sense as someone trying to figure out a way to get vegetarians to eat at their steakhouse.

Big fan of Morrowind. But Skyrim pushed the song to a whole other level of epic.

Skyrim is the biggest for me. I love the wintery mountains and barbarian women.
