Which Indie/Kickstarter games are you supporting and looking forward to?

Here are some that looks very interesting to me and please share more that I might not have heard of yet.

The Long Dark

A "first-person post-disaster survival simulation set in the Northern wilderness," where Earth is basically in total blackout, which sounds stupidly cool. It's less about action ("Combat is rare, and highly lethal.")  and more about the introspective, contemplative things people endure under duress. Developer Hinterland is looking to bring it to PC/Mac/Linux next October

Hyper Light Drifter

Explore a beautiful, vast and ruined world riddled with unknown dangers and lost technologies. Inspired by nightmares and dreams alike.  Hyper Light Drifter is a 2D Action RPG in the vein of the best 8-bit and 16-bit classics, with modernized mechanics and designs on a much grander scale.

Mighty No. 9

Mighty No. 9 is an all-new Japanese side-scrolling action game that takes the best aspects of the 8- and 16-bit era classics you know and love, and transforms them with modern tech, fresh mechanics, and fan input into something fresh and amazing!

Project Phoenix

Project Phoenix is a JRPG with a squad based RTS game design, brought to you by veteran developers and creators from the East and West.

In game battle concept of Project Phoenix

Project Awakened

Project Awakened is a genre-defying game that lets you answer the question: "Who do you want to be?" For the first time in a modern AAA action game, you will have the opportunity to completely define your dream videogame character, from abilities to aesthetics, all while playing in an action-packed world that responds to your personal playstyle.

Planet Explorers

Planet Explorers is an open world voxel based sandbox adventure RPG game set on a distant planet. The game uses a new OpenCL system based on the Unity 3D engine to allow players to change the terrain in anyway, create new objects in any form, and do it anywhere.

Divinity: Original Sin

"Picture a modern version of a world not unlike that of Ultima VII, explored either alone or with a friend, that sees you engage adversaries in tactical turn-based combat reminiscent of the great turn-based RPGs of the past. A world that is filled to the brim with choice and consequence situations, reactive NPCs, and a considerable amount of surprises. A world that captures the feeling of playing pen and paper RPGs with our friends. Then add the new stuff..." - Vision statement for Divinity: Original Sin

Heedlessly running past an enemy will expose you to an opportunistic strike

Project Eternity

Project Eternity is an isometric, party-based computer RPG set in a new fantasy world developed by Obsidian Entertainment.

I am very happy you showed me Hyper Light Drifter, I had no idea about this game and it looks very promising.

It is already successfuly funded, but I guess I could mention that since they still take donations:

Thanks, that game looks and sounds like everything I look for in a rpg.

Most of the games I'm waiting for are crowd funded games.

Some are probably well known to you:

    1. Camelot Unchained
    2. Elite: Dangerous
    3. Star Citizen
    4. Shroud of the Avatar
    Some other interesting kickstarter games:
    1. Grim Dawn
    2. Castle Story
    3. Maia

I'm slavering over Starbound at the moment. It's shaping up to be like a Terraria, with a lot more time and resources devoted to it. Also, the devs post updates almost daily and discuss things with the fan-base. It's nice to be appreciated. ^^

I am looking forward to Star Citizen and Shroud of the Avatar a lot in terms of mmos, really could use some taste of old school for mmos.  Also Maia and Starbound looks really fun too, havent seen those before.

Almost forgot about one more I should have added to OP is:

    Planet Explorers

Planet Explorers is an open world voxel based sandbox adventure RPG game set on a distant planet. The game uses a new OpenCL system based on the Unity 3D engine to allow players to change the terrain in anyway, create new objects in any form, and do it anywhere.

I've been following many but the only two I've actually pledged to are Star Citizen and Planet Explorers. Both seem like they will be just totally amazing open sandbox experiences. I'm also keeping an eye on Elite: Dangerous and Shroud of the Avatar. I also bought FTL after it released which is an amazing Rogue-Like.

Imagine games like Elite and Star Citizen with Oculus Rift support, now that would be an amazing experience.

Another worthy kickstarter title I found added to my list

    Divinity: Original Sin

The only ones that really have my attention right now are HEX MMO, Planet Explorers and The Repopulation.

Here's the stuff I've been into:

    City of Steam

Very poor experience: is released. The game started out great in alpha and beta. I supported the project directly. Then at the end of beta the developers went off to Turkey, I think Russia, and possibly a few other places. They cutoff communication with their early adopters and revamped the game after feedback from players in the regions they visited. The game played and felt very different. Disenfranchised supporters (me included) left the game. You can try it out at R2 games if you want.

    Planet Explorers

Excellent experience so far: in alpha. I chose to support these guys on Kickstarter because they offered an alpha build to try before committing to supporting their project. To me that indicates a high level of confidence and professionalism. I like how the atmosphere felt. The developers supply game builds as they hit version milestones and seem to make pretty good progress. Communication emails have cooled off slightly, but I still get them and they have useful stuff, not just marketing blurbs like my mmo emails.

I would highly recommend anyone check out their site, in Lokto's link above, if you like builders and open world adventures. I'm still looking forward to this release.

    Firefall

I am dabbling around in this game a bit. I dig the character progression and how it ties into the battleframes and crafting. If play this much longer I'll spend $20 with them and see how it goes. It's a really fun game that needs some more polish. There is a new patch on the test server. I'm hoping it will be ready soon.

I also play minetest (a minecraft clone that is coded on a different more powerful platform) Torchlight 2, and To the Moon.

I'm such a sucker for these kinda things ... after so many years of trying to justify the word "Potential" you would think I have learned my lesson.  Not quite the case ....

~Castle Story:   Castle Story is a voxel-based creative strategy game about building castles brick by brick and defending them against enemies.

           ( "Castle Story" VIDEO CLICKY)

~Star Citizen:  Reclaim the stars in the exciting new Space Epic from legendary game designer Chris Roberts.

( "Star Citizen" VIDEO CLICKY )

~Planet Explorers: Be a stranded colonist and explore a detailed alien world in this smooth voxel based sandbox adventure RPG!

(  "Planet Explorers" VIDEO CLICKY )

~Divinity: Original Sin:  Divinity Original Sin is an old-school cRPG with new ideas & modern execution, will release this year.

( "Divinity: Original Sin" VIDEO CLICKY )

Star Citizen has gotten it's hooks in good.  By far the bulk of my donation cash has been given to that one.  I have seen some interesting ones that I missed in this thread however.

I did draw a line at the "Occulus Rift" I'm thinking one of the later models will be better than the developer prototype they we're kickstarting.  As usual, time will tell with all ...

The only kickstarter game which is out and which wasn't a disappointment for me was FTL. Not that I would recommend FTL to everyone, it's very specific and the only way I could play it was on easy, but at least I've got exactly what developers promised and what I liked.

I haven't backed anything else and for good reason - as I've said, everything else that was out was a disappointment.

I am waiting for Star Citizen, a game that fit my PvP gamestyle.

Waited for Shroud of the Avatar but the house fiasco -

    http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/thread/396471/Seriously-I-was-a-devoted-fan-of-all-ultima-until-this.html

together with PvE players dictating how PvP should turn out lowered my interest.

Don't know who all watches Royal Pains, but VR goggles got a nod.

I had no idea until I started researching that they are now using VR goggles for health and wellness, and as well as a pain distraction during and after surgery.

I really like how they are giving quadriplegic's a full mobility simulation, swimming, walking through parks, even competing in sports.

With all the companies pushing  forward hard into revitalizing VR I really think we are once again sitting on the edge of a explosive leap in technology.

I am definitely waiting for Star Citizen. It kind of reminds me of what Star Wars Galaxies was hyped to become years before its release. The space expansion was decent, but far from what I had hoped for.

I've backed many of the above, of current campaigns I thought Sunless Sea looked quite interesting :-

    http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/failbetter/sunless-sea

Quote "Sunless Sea is a game of exploration, survival and loneliness set in the award-winning Victorian Gothic universe of Fallen London. Take the helm of your customised steamship and set sail for the unknown! Light and darkness are your greatest allies, but a stout set of cannon and a gunnery officer with a grudge will come in useful too."

I am a bit cautious regarding any crowd funded game. My fear is that they will take the money and run. Also, concerned that they will  not come anywhere close to delivering the game(s) as advertised. That does not mean I am not supporting any as I do support Star Citizen and a couple of others from what I consider reputable developers.

Recently, the crowd funded game "Clang" devs reported they were stopping work on that game due to LACK of funds. This was even though they reached their funding goals. That does not bode well for other such projects as the possibility of others. It is extremely risky putting up you money for something that may never come to pass or something that falls far short of promised expectations.

Let's party like it is 1863!
