I have heard about there being tons of bots in game which are causing serious issues, is that right? Also there are no public test servers and class changes seem to be happening ad hoc and causing problems?

    Been playing non-stop since release.

Bots have not been an issue for a very long time. Anet is on the ball with them. And if by chance you do spot one, its very easy to report them to alert the "proper authorities" (hehe). I used to go Bot Hunting in my spare time for fun (using the friends list as a means to keep score on them never logging in again). Now, I'm hard pressed to find a bot these days. Once in awhile I may find one, but few and far between.

As far as class changes - yes there are. But no more or less than any other MMO. As far as causing problems, not in the least. There will always be people who get emotionally upset and over react about class changes. You tend to dismiss their antics. Its fine in GW2.

If you are on the fence, I would suggest waiting for a Free Weekend Trial to actually see and decide for yourself. However, GW2 is buy-to-play, so you really can't lose. If you are a fan of "action" MMOs, you will at least get your money's worth of entertainment (if you are the type that only hangs around for a month or two in games). And being that there is no subscription, allows a person to take breaks and come back whenever they feel like it.

I would have to say its probably the best MMO out right now - do it!

Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master.

I do not know if this is a troll post or not, but if that is a serious question and you have Elite status with 4k posts on this website I am pretty shocked at the questions considering the information on this website alone.

Anyhow research is pretty friendly though.

OP, NOPE, someone has been poisoning you with bad trolling levels.

I have been playing since pre-order and the game keeps getting better.

Even if there is botting they do NOT influence your game session, cause once u "TAG" you get the kills/loot.

Trait changes/skill changes DO happend in EVERY MMO, thats a given. I DID get kinda mad when they changed some Warrior Traits but it takes a lil time to tweek your build (once your learn about your class).

I check with reviews, mates, official forums and here before I try any MMO, you just can't trust one source of information. So not a troll, just ultra cautious by nature. Thanks for the info I will be in game soon.

I haven't seen a bot in game in a long, long time.

The first couple of months after release there used to be a lot of the ranger bot trains but not anymore. I'm sure there are bots out there now but they are well hidden.

Yea. bots were a big problem for the first 3 or 4 months. Haven't seen a bot in ages, though I do get gold-seller mail maybe once every other month? just report it if you see it.

imo, best mmo out right now.. the dynamic stuff is way better the FFARR stupid fates...

the platforming is cool, which alot of mmos dont have, fun jumping puzzles...

only thing i dont like is the limited hot bar..... sucks..

I haven't seen a bot or gold spam since playing....I've played for at least 4 months.

My only caution, find a server that is semi local. I got onto a server that is mostly Australian and New Zealand---and while that is not a bad thing, the time difference is.

Just a small advice. GW2 is sort of casual game. It's not about rushing to the end game and raiding your ass off in dungeons. I met too many people, new to the game, that quit soon after because "there is nothing to do". But if you go in game and just have casual fun, you will have a blast. Of course if "work" in raids is your thing, I think you will be disappointed.
  • ArenaNet solved gold botting problem like 4-5 months ago. I haven't seen a bot in game like ages. And trust me I'm agree with others. This game is the best mmo right now in the market...

Best MMO in the market currently.

Unfortunately it is still far from perfect and IMO their focus on the "living story" is worrying. I'm hoping they will announce a proper expansion soon, with new big zones and new professions/weapons/races.

Still as said, best MMO in the market right now.

I am, admittedly, not a huge fan of the game, just was not my thing. That said, they did a good job with the bots.  Plus, if you look at it from their perspective, it pays for them to deal with the bots, literally. Assuming they were not using hacked accounts (though I am sure many times they were) the person/company using the hacked account had to purchase it. Nice source of income.

It is a good game, and decent customer service too, which does count for something, and if bots are your concern, I would say they are gone, at least for now.

The game is good, but not without flaws. Wait for a sale, if you can, but they are not frequent.

The game is at least good enough for the experience of leveling a few characters. After that, depends if you will like the end game it offers. Right now, end game consists of farming to get gold and materials. Gold because you can buy everything with it. Materials because of introduction of Ascendant gear.

So right now, end game consists of players being specialist farmers, and they farm in huge groups. So, if you like the style zerg group farming rushing to try to tag champions before they get obliterated, you should have fun.

Oh, and more and more time gated aspects are added in the game, to try to slow down the locust/farming players, too. Lots of the time gates are of the style per account per day. So, alternate characters are useless there. In fact, looks like the target audience to which they put a lot of their attention right now, is the player with a single character that wants to get everything as soon as possible. They are really trying to please and slow down somewhat that type of player, in order to retain them.
