I dont know Dragon age 2 was pretty disappointing, if they are continuing along that line of simplification and streamlining similar to ME series, it probably will be a miss. I have not the best opinion of bioware since EA ate them up.
Now this has became a first person fighting game series? As opposed to a top down tactical rpg?
Whatever we will see what it brings. And please no always on DRM.

He even said in the video that it has tactical top down capabilities and that they made it even better than origins...im guessing that was just the players personal preference on camera style when you saw the greatsword wielder

This games map will be 5 times bigger than the first game and it will be open world, Bioware said their inspiration for open world exploration was Elder Scrolls series. And it will have an improved tactical camera from the first game. They said they are fusing the best elements from both previous games.
Looks very nice, indeed. Also see that they got rid of the neenjah combat styles. Will be curious to see the reception and what people say once it releases. BioWare's made some hefty promises that they didn't keep before (IMHO).

You spread to an area, and you multiply, and you multiply, until every natural resource is consumed. The only way you can survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is? A virus. Human beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet.-Mr.Smith

looks like dragon age 2 style combat. didn't like dragon age 2 doubt this one will be any different. wish they had of used the combat system from the first one but they had to dumb it down for the kids who can only mash one button for the win.
BioWare kind of went down the tubes when EA bought them out; core people left or were fired, replaced with EA personnel; the founding doctors left in disgust.
Seeing will be believing, but I expect a big cash-shop right in my face everywhere I go.
All good news honestly, mixing the few good pieces in DA2 with the grand ones in DAO and taking it to the next level is exactly what they needed to do. Seems like they're doing it.
I even got a feeling like "this is GW2 style" when that fortress' health was ticking down as it was under siege, shown in the right upper corner of the screen.

Not bad.
I am not too fond of timers and no auto regen. It sort of puts some stess on the game, where I prefer to play more leisurely. No auto-regen means= mandatory mage with healing tree, sorta narrowing down my choices. Same with timers, I prefer to really explore, but with timers... hurm...
And once again, choice all of which are bad. Batman would have found a way to do all three!

Yeah this impressed me over last weekend with all the PAX Prime videos released, wasn't interested in all in it before .Could be a return to form for Bioware.
Originally posted by Holophonist Mmmmm I'm gonna play it but I'm worried it's more action and less RPG. I liked the slower, top-down aspect of the first game.
Watch the third part of the video, that answers your question. Basically you have the option to play either way

Looks pretty good, atleast graphical.
Open world is usually always a good thing.
What I guess I fear the most is the price tag and all the DLC that you'll have to pay for afterwards
