If you take your time and think your way through it, you won't have a problem. On the other hand, if you are mindlessly clicking on everything just to rush through the registration process because you are impatient about getting into the game, then you may encounter problems. Its a process requiring the completion of a series of steps. It may not be as easy a process as you are accustomed to, but its not rocket science either.

Yea their account management system is rather messed up, still suffering heavily from the separation of PAL and NTSC.

Where are the beta forums? Most sites have their forums either directly in sight on the main page or under some sort of community tab.
