Hello all
I have been playing eve since it was first pushed out into the world of reality.
Here are my 5 top rules to survive and thrive in Eve Online.
1. Trust no one ( most important rule in eve online , this one keeps you alive , though there are always exceptions to this rule.)
2. Never fly alone ( personally I have 3 accounts but a good corporation is a must but see rule 1.)
3. Never fly in a ship that you can't either do the following
------------------- Afford to replace
-------------------- have the expectancy to fly
4. Nowhere is safe ( highsec , lowsec , nullsec)
5. If it seems to be too good to be true it often is
Remember Eve is what you make it with planning and knowing that every ship has a role you can live quite nicely in the harsh universe witch is Eve.
Current games;
Star treck online
Rift
Eve online
Firefall

Do you realise that those 2 rules are both not compatible and false? :P
"EVE is likely the best MMORPG that you've never really understood or played" - Kyleran
He means take your fleet of alts everywhere you go.
If you understand EVE it is a totally reasonable piece of advice. Although, it could use a bit of elaboration.
Free to play = content updates for the cash shop. Buy to play = content updates for the cash shop.
Subscription = Actual content updates!
Flying with someone doesn't require any real degree of trust... ^^ Especially, if you are paying attention to the other rule... Never fly something you can't afford to replace... ^^
My list of rules from the almost six years I spent in the game are shorter.
1. Trust No One.
2. NEVER fly (or even undock) what you can't afford to replace.
3. NO place (out side of dock) is safe. Concord isn't there for protection. Its there for *retribution*.
In all of those years, I never joined a player corp (I'm still with SWA), and I never joined anyone's group/fleet/gang.
yes and no
i say yes because ive got 20+ friends from teamspeak that i fly with in our group. Each one works for the next person. our fighters escort our miners mine, our industries build. i know i can trust them cause even the miners will stop what their doing to fight off pirates.
I say no because if you meet someone in game you truly cannot trust the person.
So the lesson is find friends in RL or Teamspeak who play and work from there.
Trust is the most valuable commodity in EVE. You will find it difficult to enjoy the game without employing it at least sometimes.
So trust. But don't ever trust more than you need to.
Give me liberty or give me lasers
Do you just not enjoy fun? Not everyone is out to get you. The most fun I have had, or heard of anyone ever having with EVE is in a player Corp that fits their style and making friends with those people and flying with them doing whatever it is they want to do. I joined the incursion community for a bit and had a blast (until ISK printing became a job) so now I am in a C5 with some really awesome people I have known for quite awhile (because I took the time to get to know them) and we have some really kick ass times.
tl;dr Get the fuck up out of your cacoon and play with some people.
My rules for fun eve play
1. Take risks
2. Explore low sec
3. don't insure your ships
4. Let us know what part of space you hang out in
I think rule 2 from the OP should be translated as:
have at least 3 accounts !!
To my eye it seems the OP has only just started playing eve is excited and thinks its awesome and wants to look good saying hes got 3 accounts and been playing since it was pushed out the door..
otherwise wtf is this post really about? its bland, pointless really and just seems to smell of canon fodder noob pilot
