CPU Temperature Question

RollieJoeRollieJoe Member UncommonPosts: 451

So Tomshardware appears to be not working atm (won't let me post), so perhaps someone here can help me.

I need to know the maximum temperature it is safe to operate an i5-4670k CPU at for long periods of time.  Does anyone know?  Or perhaps know where I might go to find such information?   Thanks!

Depends on the processor, but generally 60-70C with a normal load.

    To OP.

In difference to that CPU aslong as you stay under 80 degrees celsius / 176 degrees fahrenheit it should be fine.

For long periods of time that is.

For short periods of time I suppose you could go past 90, even if the CPU caps out by intels standards to say 100 or 105, even if you are able to push it that high, it's far from clever to do so.
