The denial is strong with this one.

Let us hear how you correlate the high number of beta applications to the failure of the games in question. This'll be amusing.

Although such statements rarely are followed up by the poster returning to the thread, I am curious as to what other betas your referring to?

Seriously i'll wait lemme know what game in recent MMO launch history had 1mil+ registered beta users...

Oh and if we throw in subscription game into the criteria i'm going to have to make some popcorn... Haters go'n hate

GW2 had over 1mil in 48hour when they opened beta reg

They've handled it well and haven't screwed over the older customers by making them buy it again, I would have just scrapped the original game and started over.

It's great there is so much interest in FF:ARR, could this be the rebirth of this 25 year old franchise? I sure hope so.

The game is in great shape and still 2 months left to finalise and polish things, it's clear they are taking no chances in this regard unlike last time. Also, as already mentioned with the current launch window having limited competition they should get off to a really good start.

    my story:

i got an email with beta code.

i had to register with aquare enix.

game wasnt avail to download- much worse was so confusing to get around the site.- but digital pre purchase was very available and accesable in shop.

had issues with log in the next day.

never went back to check. nor have plans todo so.

some of these games have the worst websites ever to navigate and get access to things.

battlenet by far is the best one to date.-they should take note!

I played it when it first came out and it was nothing short of a disaster. A realm reborn is right: They fired the man in charge [and if I am not mistaken the entire dev staff] after FFXIV 1.0 launched. It was pretty much a grind fest with no real destination. From the start there was zero group content [unless you count the higher lvl starred limited "quests" available and the "escort" quests that were only available at certain times], it had a pretty fun crafting system, the "auction house" was a nightmare [that is being kind], you could not walk over water or swim, [if I remember correctly] you could not jump, the only way you could travel was walking or teleporting [a few times a day?], there were a ton of "towns" that were basically ghost towns [as they had NPCs {sometimes}, but the NPCs were not functional, and so on and so forth.

Sure the all in one, combine abilities on one char was great, but with only having 10[?] abilities at your disposal at any given time on the hotbar, choices were limited at best. FFXIV was beautiful, but I pretty much paid for a BETA that never amounted to much. Square Enix really lost my loyalty after both FFXIII and the aforementioned.

I will be waiting to see what 2.0 plays like [at a friends house] before I would ever consider giving SE another cent.

Understandable, just give it a try in open beta in a month or so.
