Dark Angels are a given - that gives us 3 to mull our heads over. I'm hoping for Black Templars, Space Wolves, and Blood Angels or Ultramarines. I figure we need a vanilla chapter in there somewhere.

Huh... I added a poll for a bunch of Marine chapters, but only Ultras and Wolves are showing...

I think the important thing here in a game where i assume all the marines are going to be statistically the same is the have chapters with varied looks in their ranks.

I think that Space Wolves should be a given. They have a lot of personality in their armor with animal skulls and charms, beards and spiky hair that you dont get with many other chapters, plus they are too popular of a chapter not to have in there.

Dark Angels which we have been told are going to be in there are a good choice, they have the dark green with the possibilty of white hoods (plus possible native american iconography) and the terminators will look especially awesome with the white armor.

Black Templars are another good choice, a popular chapter with some differing armors, black and white armor with a crusading knights feel.

I feel that they will want to have some brighter color chapters in there though, Blood angels is a popular chapter, bright colors, blood red and a very ferocious nature to them.

One of the problems is colors, I would think they would want varied colors in the chapter, DA are a dark color, BT are a dark color and SW although not dark are a that blueish grey, I would think they would want to add some more colors, which makes me think BA are a solid choice but they might skip BT and go with Ultramarines. They have some pretty sweet looking armor with a roman or greek feel to them and theyre pretty colorful with the nice blue with white and gold.

I also wonder if they are wanting to go with chapters with varied combat specialties. Most of the chapters above are melee combat specialists. Salamanders would be an interesting choice except they would be a little too close to DA color wise.

Imperial fists would be another cool choice, colorful and masters of siege warfare.

Personally i would like to see the Raven Guard or White Scars.

Space muhreens all look the same,

ill only be interested if i can custom paint mine hot pink to look fabulous , otherwise I am hoping for Plague marines for chaos or the pink ones Emperors Children i believe they are called.

Im hoping regardless they do a few less represented chapters considering we always get, ultramarines or blood angles

I would be pretty shocked if we don't see Ultramarines represented. I would think

Dark Angels

Black Templar

Ultramarines

and

Spacewolves

I think the aesthetic argument and brightly colored armors is a good point, I am thinking no Blood Angels and instead you will see a lot of red used with the orcs. Imperial Fists or White Scars would stand out well, but they are not very popular.

Ultramarines (i just love the books about them so much >,<)

they are the biggest chapter so its kinda logical that they are there

Salamanders

they have cool armors and are blackskinned and i want a burning field where 100s of salamanders walking through

Space Wolfs

Unique armor-, Hairstyle and have a mutation.

specialiced in brutal closecombat (i would love the pre herasy World Eaters more )

Actually, Black Templars are the biggest chapter. Their size has no limits. Ultras are 1000 marines strong, and stick to the Codex Astartes like glue.

yes, they are way over the limit of 1000, so once the inquisition find out the true numbers(nearly 6000), they are sure going to sweat blood :P

Space wolves would be great, add in Black Templers, Blood Angels and Ultramarines and you have your most likely four.

Would love to see Deathwatch et al in the far future of the game.

Ultramarines, because what would we do without the pun chapter? Them + Dark Angels + Space Wolves + Blood Angels would give us lots of visually different marines.

These would be as good as any tbh:

Blue/Yellow + Omega

Grey + Wolf's Head

Red + blood drop

Dark Inky Green + wings and blood drop

Progressively light-dark chapters.

Salamanders with their coal black skin and red eyes would look awesome in a game, especially if you give them dredlocks on top of that. (The Salamanders are the "African/carrbean" legion but due to a gene seed defect they now have coal black skin)
