WildStar: Korean Press Presentation with Jeremy Gaffney

SBFordSBFord Former Associate EditorMember LegendaryPosts: 33,129

At an offsite event during this year's E3, Carbine Studios' Jeremy Gaffney unveiled WildStar to select members of the Korean press community, and we were there to tape the whole thing and hear what the Gaffer has in store for the game and its upcoming launch. NOTE: Presentation has pauses for Korean translations.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

This game wont flow if their end game is arenas and raids and 40v40.

Isn't that kind of how WoW's end game is? seems to be a fairly popular game

every wow clone tries this endgame and ends up under delivering

followed by everyone quitting in the masses and resubbing to wow

Um no most MMO's these days aren't doing so well because they either try and go too new and therefore don't hold the traditional crowd, or they don't innovate enough and people get bored.  The solution has to be a blend.  The idea behind wild star is that they will fix the leveling problems games like WoW have while incorporating the pvp and pve endgame that WoW clones have had success with.

Their server size goals worry me :-( As an ex-raid leader, to me it is very important to have a large pool to pull from. 3500-7000 players on a server for a WoW raid (25man is my experience, and 40man from vanillia) is very small and makes you end up pulling from other servers (which is fine, and I hope we will be able to do that). But for a 40 man raid this problem becomes even greater.
