If u think the animations are fine ,you my friend are in dire need of a pair of glasses . If thats not the case if u want to see what good animation is like go try that stupid game u mentioned in your response. As for me im done with wow over 2 years  now and iant going back there . But as i said in past threads lots of times the crap mmos we witness so far the last years that leaded to this decaying situation YOU my friend ME and lots of players bare a serious ammount of responsibility to this situation of crap products cause we are NOT DEMANDING enough from the developing teams.

They are not fine, they are okay, but nothing great, espescially the running annimation still feels very unnatural.  If you compare the annimations to more recent games like GW2, SWTOR and Tera they really fall short.

On top of that in combat you dont really feel that punch when you hit something....

Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)

WoW annimations are still considered the best by many...   WoW set the standards in MMO land for almost 10 years, you can not do that unless you sell a high quallity product. Which WoW is.  Don´t be fooled by the populistic opinion of people on these boards, WoW my friend is one of the few MMo´s that did everything right when they released.

agree about quality and animations. i was playing wow almost since start, having more than 8000 xfire hours, but everything right when released? i guess you wasn't there in 2004...

Sorry OP but I get fluid graphics and combat actions. Maybe you and your comp just suck. Needless to say just jumped back into Rift this past week and brought a few other guildies from another game over. 2 who use to play and a couple others who this is their first time. Once I explained the soul system and a couple other things we have all enjoyed our time and plan to continue on till EQNext comes out.

Sorry Lord Bachus, basically everything you said is incorrect unless you are  a completely delusional fanboy.

Before you say I do not know what I am talking about I did WoW beta and did WoW many yrs until WotLK came out. Also my MMORPG life not counting MUDs started in UO.

Personally I enjoy MMOs, or rather enjoyed them (although I still play EVE). For me it's the never ending quest and gear grind that's off putting. I'm tired of it, I've seen it in wow, EQ2, Rift, Lotro, Tera, AoC and so on... You go from quest hub to quest hub doing the same stuff over and over again. Collect 10 red flowers, kill 12 wolves, escort this merchant. Hell, it wasn't that fun in the first place, but seeing it again 10 years down the line is disheartening.  These "quests" are more of a chore than anything remotely fun or challenging. I suppose if you like your games drama free it's okay, but let's not pretend that it's the players fault. It's self evident that people will rather do something new and interesting. If Rift was all that, it wouldn't of needed to go f2p.

I agree with the OP.  It is nothing to do with comp or connection; there is just a disconnect, a slight delay in the actions and an inability to break animations quickly.  It is a small thing but since you spend 90% of your time fighting it is enough to make me quit.
