Indeed because companies with good track record like Mythic and Bioware did such an awsome job making MMO's that it really means something.

    EXACTLY.

The problem is with experienced companies making clones or junk of things they've already made.  Maybe it's time for NEW developers to come in who have new ideas, new employees and new direction.

We keep getting the same old games partially because the same companies keep making them. As long as they're making money with their small innovations they aren't likely to risk an innovative product as much as a hungry upstart.

I'd like to see where this project goes.

"Participate in a persistent online war to conquer the planet, its fate completely in the hands of the players;"

So basically like Planetside 2? ok i must admit that im very excited with the idea, but i will nullify a major part of it untill i see something tangible, depending how this goes it may be the game of my life.

I would be down for a Planetside 2-like Space Marine third-person shooter.

MMOs Played: I can no longer list them all in the 500 character limit.

These are the same guys who made the Naughty Bears series and a bunch of other games, so it might be alright.

You have had that for a could decades.

If you think that the strategy based Warhammer 40k games that have ever been released are even remotely close to the actual table top game; you have absolutely no idea about anything in the Warhammer 40k table top universe. Please, at least know where the game came from before you make random statements.

    About devs:

I read the name Craig Morrison somewhere. If he is there, that means that all the boys from the Funcom Montreal are there(those that were fired of course). They aren't exactly unknown to the MMO players(for good or bad is up to the reader).

They could produce a good game.

If it is PS2+SM+40k, I'm sold! I don't usually like action games, but that must be because I don't care about their settings. And now for the Eldar impression /cough /clearthroat:

    WE ARE SUPERIOR!

Sorry but I deny your reality and substitute my own, "FOR THE EMPEROR!"

Warhammer 40k: Eternal Crusade Announced at E3

Behaviour Interactive announce at E3 a brand new online game in the Warhammer 40,000 universe called Warhamer 40k: Eternal Crusade. The official website is http://www.bhvr.com/eternalcrusade/

In this game players will choose a race from Warhammer 40k and fight for their faction supremacy over an entire planet.

“I am thrilled to announce what will finally be the first MMORPG based on the Warhammer 40,00 license,” said Miguel Caron, Head of Studio, Online at Behaviour Interactive. “Eternal Crusade team are all MMO development veterans and with the support of Behaviour’s 20+ years of experience this is going to be the online Warhammer 40,000 universe game that fans have been dreaming of for years!”

Hopefully that will clear up some doubts about the team.

    PRAISE RUSS PRAISE THE EMPEROR.

Best new this year after the slitherine warhammer game announcement!

This literally made me insanely happy. I was so sad when dark millenium was cancelled.

Now only to make it to 2015.

Well time enough to save up for a new gaming rig

    I have my doubts.

But best of luck to them.

    So basically, Planetside: Warhammer 40K.

    Sounds good to me.

So this is what they had done with DM. When they said that it wasnt going ahead anymore i wondered what would be done. good to see it didnt go completely to waste. All i hope is that its not a game made for consoles then ported to PC.

Turn based strategy based on the table top game came and went with SSI.  Chaos gate, Rites of Passage, Final Liberation (based on epic 40k)

Wouldn't hold my breath on this game getting done. For those of you that are NOT table top wargaming geeks or follow GW the owners of GW are in the process of trying to sell the company. Normally it took around 3 months or so before we'd see a new Army Book or Codex (these are the army specific books for Fantasy and 40K respectively that detail your troops and allow you to play the game). As of the last 6 months or so across both Fantasy and 40K we have pretty much gotten a book a month.

What that likely means is that they are shoreing up both games with current rulesets (8th and 6th) so that they can neatly package for sale. We know, as in fact, that a deal was almost done with Hasbro.

Additionally GW has cancelled ALL of it's Specialist games line of games. They are no longer in production and once what's left in stock is gone, they are gone gone. Necromunda, Mordheim, Blood Bowl, Battlefleet Gothic, Epic , Warmaster.

So, again ,don't hold your breath or get too excited about anything GW right now.

"Many nights, my friend... Many nights I've put a blade to your throat while you were sleeping. Glad I never killed you, Steve. You're alright..."

If this is going to have gaming like Rogue Trader or Dark Heresy, it could be so awesome!

Yes, I know we shouldn't get our hopes up. But if this works out, it could be such an awesome online universe!

So it is like the Space Marine game... but online...

Well that is at least better then the last idea someone had for a online WH40K game. This way tihngs can be balanced.

There's a couple decent games on their resume. Wet, for one, wasn't bad.

However, they do seem like a VERY odd choice for a warhammer game. It'd be like finding out Maxis was developing halflife 3.
