meh this review seems kinda bias to me personally. as the review said nothing for the limited voice over work that some of the quests/npcs have. it seems to be bitching about the sex content that is all over the place
frankly as a long time gamer i would have rated SB as a 5.0 not because of the sex its pushing around but simply do to the fact its a mediocre game at best with its mass hand holding on quests and really lack of challenge . its a typical asian cookie cutter, still the limited i played it, it was decently polished as far as im aware the two factions are exactly the same with just different starting point and quests (hence why it gets 5.0)
most of the points in this review im kind of iffy on but thats just me. i was kinda hoping mmorpg would review the game as it is and not bring up the sex drive of it as well. cause thats been beaten to death already. sure knock 1.0 or 2.0 off for the mass tits in the face but come on.. atleast review it honestly if WoW had mass tits in the face would it get the reviews it gets??

I'm unwilling to believe they are moral paragons now.
Yeah, it doesn't make sense. This review doesn't hold much weight because how long have they had the ads up? a month or more? The staff had no objection to do that. But now that they take them down and switch to the next game with sex appeal ads they can slam the game with a high score of 4.7
I'm going to go ahead and tell you why you're wrong. The one reviewing this game had nothing to do with the advertisement nor did the rest of the staff. It was a stuffy man in a suit somewhere who is now enjoying an extra mean cigar because of his choice to sell MMO sex to us. This has been stated before.
And to the rest of this argument that has seemed to follow in the responses.....Objectivity? You're really pulling that one out in this instance. We're talking about flaunting tits about in a very obvious and purposeful manner and you're expecting someone to be objective about its invasion into every crevice of the game. If one were to be objective about that subject when related to this game one could only say " There are an amazing amount of tits in this game and people often enjoy tits. However some don't enjoy tits at all times and in all forms of entertainment. This isn't to say that one couldn't stomach seeing a tit every now and then in all forms of entertainment, but honestly there are only so many tits one can see before a tit becomes like any other lump of matter. This isn't insulting tits, its insulting the frequency and omission of other content in favor of more tits."
It is good to be objective in all matters however it's best to use it in the serious tone that some of you heathens have been using it when referring to matters of life and death, not tits and ass.
that's ridiculous, they're associated with the website and so they're associated with what's on the site.
if they're so offended and find it degrading and shameful then why would they be associated with such ads and a website with those ads?
there's certain things that offend me or i find extremely annoying or whatever, such as animal freaks who are obsessed with animals.. you won't find me anywhere near anything that has to do with that..
if i see someone dressing up an animal like a human i'm outty 5 thousand, i wouldn't be writing for and associated with a website that sold clothing for animals.
They are a website that discusses and reviews everything that is MMORPG related, unfortunatly for MMORPG.com Scarlet Blade also falls under this cathegory...Woudn't it be totally bizarre if they gave Scarlet Blade a glowing review instead..
It's not that this review is positive towards the game
i have no problem with a bad review i have a problem with the "shameful/degrading" moral high ground stuff that was included with the review.
if a person didn't like the game, fair enough.. give it a bad review but no need to bring that stuff into it.
What should he bring into it then..It's Scarlet Blades MAIN selling feature, It's their main focus in all the ADDS for it..My guess it's completly impossible to ignore while playing it aswell
so.. if that's it's main feature and attraction and he has a problem with that type of content what's he even doing reviewing the game? doesn't seem very fair to the game as he would have his mind made up in not liking that content.
the whole thing feels like agenda to me which i don't like.. looking down at people who would be interesting in such a thing, etc.
i'm more offended by that than hotty mchottersons in revealing clothing, i might even go try the game now out of rebellion.
"Being approached to review this game was something I wasn’t expecting" Goerge Dimmock
This is straight from the beginning of the review..Did you not read that. ? If you are a reporter or working for a game site you can't choose what you want to review, You get a game mailed for you or handed to you to review regardless of preferences or likes ..
so you're saying he couldn't say, "i'm not comfortable with such material, could i review something else, perhaps" or something along those lines.. i find it hard to believe he's forced to review it.
evenso, the majority of what i expressed remains.. if he was "forced" or chose to review it changes little in the overall context except for cutting the person some slack in why he would review it.

Truely baffling. Either you didn't play the game long enough to be able to say that it does/doesn't contain porn. You played the game blind folded. Or what you WOULD describe as porn is frightening.

The very POINT of being a critic of anything is that you REMOVE yourself from your limited experience and mindset and review something objectively. Something he clearly cannot do.
He has no place to review anything and should find a new job.

I do not consider pixelated big cartoon tits and butts porn. They are tasteless cartoons. Like I said I played the game about 4 hours. All I saw was almost naked big tits and butts giggling around. I would be interested as to what you consider porn or what you saw in the game that you feel is pornography. In short: Depiction of erotic behavior intended to cause sexual excitement. That is my definition of porn. Not sure how pixel cartoons cause sexual excitement, hence it is not porn to me.

It isn't hard to find it with a google image search. Ok, with your definition it makes more sense.
IMO you can add this review to knee-jerk murican response to female nudity .... and also their denigrating attitude towards women.
I sometimes make spelling and grammar errors but I don't pretend it's because I'm using a phone
Another Corporate Religion review at best. Because the game features nudity and sexuality it is suddenly a problem but not a word against or spoken against the filler-violence often used in video-games as a means of "detail and addition" by these same Game Writers.
When will the game writers stop pretending and acting like gaming is a child only thing, or a feminist extremist left-wing playground? The themes in SB is no different than the themes that can be found in Fifty Shades of Grey and plenty of other novels and entertainment that has been created way long before gaming was thought of.
Ironically, the other audience is more mature and acceptable in dealing with erotic-undertones in their entertainment and there are active discussions about it. But gaming for some reason acts as if such things shouldn't exist in this psuedo <sanitized> poppycock world made up by a bunch of wannabe moralist biggots who rally at the mere sight of skin. It defiantly reeks of the phobia puritian christanity bible-thumping influence.
The only thing degrading is this boxed-in soccer-mommy appeal approach to any game that has even a hint of sexuality in it. No one really cares about pixel-flesh in a game except those those who are fearful of the natural state of the human form <which doesn't include clothes mindful> and those looking to score brownie points with white-knights.
The problem is not the gaming, the problem is a corporate mindset<and some gaming mindsets> that doesn't want gaming to grow up or discuss anything that goes beyond the fondation of the 4-painted walls called <comfort zone>. This is why we often have dry reproduce games that offer little to no reflection with WoW reject games and anything with a tiny bit of difference is quickly sanitized and censored for the masses.
Gaming does not belong to anyone, or any set of so-called moralistically or politically correct agendas. Gaming is a form of entertainment, created by developers and played and experienced by the players. If developers to choose to make their game a certain way it should not be a problem for its existance, even if such themes are not agreed upon by individuals. But there are those <including writers unfortunately> who act as if gaming should only be done <their> way and <only> their way and give typically biased and poor reviews based on comfort-zones, not as what the game is as a whole itself. Which is why game-reviews aren't really even true reviews anymore, but biased opinions mixed in with the guilt-trip tatic on cartoon characters. Who are not real people, and do not pay taxes like real people do.
Gaming should be allowed to change and branch out as much as possible. Even if it includes exploring themes or situations that may be uncomfortable for some others. There is much more potential and development gaming could have done even a few years ago, but we still have those who want gaming to stay trap in the Disney-Zone. One of the reasons why 18+ games are a rare sight.

Not certain how it works ..PM and ask !!
I have read the entire review again to see if I really missed anything like constantly talking about this nudity issue..But He doesn't do that..!!
Hes really only mentioning the "nudity" and the problems he has with it in the beginning of the review and some in it's conclusion(But thats what a conclusion is), after that he goes trough the various gameplay styles and combat and level system..He even mentioned that the graphics looks ok , for me this is an alright review , I can see nothing wrong with it ..
He found the game bad in most areas, not just that It tries to sell itself as a game that has breasts .
First Sxvs youre a moron for copy&paste a million post, that no one can even read.
Really mmorpg.com... A Scarlet Blade Review while E3 is in full swing??? A game that no one who matters cares about? A game thats been out for weeks? I could have told you it would have gotten less than a 5 rating even without ever playing it. Waste of your time and more importantly our time, mmorpg. I'm off to IGN.com

you couldn't come up with a better way to react than an insult? not even sure what you mean by copy and paste? i didn't copy and paste anything, if you're referring to my reply/quoting of responses, well...
if you were reading the thread in context you wouldn't have to follow it from quotes.

This is so NOT true at all, a review is one persons view on a game or piece music or anything really..It will ALWAYS contain that persons view of the product ..You can't be objective in this manner, since othervise it woudnt be a review, It would be an article describing the game.

Wrong, this is not a review of the game, this is a moral objection to its content.
What happened to the last movie critic that wrote a review stating that the movie was a pornographic piece of garbage because it showed nipples? Oh wait, you don't read reviews like that anymore except from religious sites. Is this a religious site? Then I guess morals have no place in a video game review...
Funny thing that, the game is immoral because of nipples, not going around with a WEAPON KILLING things.

We aren't discussing female nudity here, we are discussing the unrealistic, perverse, and obscene portrayal of the female form used in "Scarlet Blade". Let that sink in for a minute because there is a very big difference between the two.
You have no leg to stand on with the type of argument you are trying to present. The models used look to be close to being underage while a few clearly appear to be underage. They've intentionally made the models look like exaggerated sex dolls. The female form is a beautiful thing, but this distorted and perverse interpretation of the female form is not.
I enjoy the works of those like William Wetmore, and yes most of his work involves female nudity. It's beautiful and tasteful. Scarlet Blade is neither beautiful nor is it tasteful.
You defending Scarlet Blade and your chosen method say a great deal about you. If you wish to defend it then please in the future try and show some semblance of intelligence. I do not appreciate bigotry especially when the bigot trying to speak ill of me doesn't seem to have any clue as to what they are talking about.

WOW! Really... absence.... punctuation win.
rpg/mmorg history: Dun Darach>Bloodwych>Bards Tale 1-3>Eye of the beholder > Might and Magic 2,3,5 > FFVII> Baldur's Gate 1, 2 > Planescape Torment >Morrowind > WOW > oblivion > LOTR > Guild Wars (1900hrs elementalist) Vanguard. > GW2(1000 elementalist), Wildstar
Now playing GW2, AOW 3, ESO, LOTR, Elite D
I dont necessarily find it shameful, I just find it highly juvenile.
I like tits as much as the next guy, but over exaggerated cartoony tits as the thing a game is built around is just silly.
I wouldnt at all mind a game with nudity appropriate to its world. For instance a Song of Ice and Fire themed MMORPG where females in Qarth walk around with 1 tit out. Id be all for a fully nekkid Crucia/Miela (hey that metal armor has to interfere with the controling, no?). but tits just for tits sake as the main focus to a game? No thanks.
Originally posted by Rebellon This the typical reaction that you get when something of a sexual nature is involved in any game. Suzie you are some how disgusted with the interpretation of the female form in this game. Why are you not more horrified by games that push the violence of blood and gore that are so prevalent in games. Write about that, instead of something that has not changed since the beginning of time.
/this Put a tit in a game and the game is labeled as pornographic. Thrill killing, blood spattering, disembowelment, all that is ok. The sick f**ks are those go ballistic over any form of nudity but condone gratuitous violence.
