Who else is surprised? Not me. But it's even more of a farce than I thought it would be.

Are they hand picked?  'Nuff said, right?

Only "Yes Men/Women" usually seek such a position, and also usually People of that kind are more than likely to also be very "popular". Think High School Prom King and Queen.

Mostly harmless and pointless all at the same time unfortunately. Same crap, Different School.

Not surprised.  What would have been shocking would have been if it wasn't that way.  Everything they've ever done from forum moderation to reputation indicated this is how they work.

So what have they done to make you think all they are is "yes men/women"?

That is kind of like me coming here and posting that they all love fish flavored donuts.

That Guild Wars 2 login screen knocked up my wife. Must be the second coming!

I know personally 3 of the accused here. Each is of a different mindset and will forcus on things like bug reporting and elimination, working on making the music system better, and getting raids and instances more challenging and fun with better loot.

Why does everyone seem to enjoy backbiting everything?  Especially when when virtually nothing of truth is revealed. Hang around a game and diss it at every opportunity with conspiracy theories galore. oiy!

I do hope OP knows every of the Council (no doubt he played on server for a really long time).

I do hope OP has played with every Council member at least for 1 year.

I do hope OP has read every topic of every Council member, every reputation given by them and for them, every their phrase  in Lotro chat.

Based on long-term research OP has made these conclusions and may one day share them with us.

If not - it's just propaganda. Turbine wants player opinion and needs to talk to a group that would represent all players - young and old, PvP and PvE, hardcore and softcore fans. One of representatives is on Withywindle server, he had entire topic o0n what do player want him to say.

Besides, everybody could tell - "I wanna be", everybody had equal chances. And Turbine does not need 2 types of players in the Council: fanboys and haters. Both look at the game with wrong glasses (pink/black) and will listen only to that opinion they want to hear. Turbine does need people who would tell unbiased truth.

    No, it isn't.

People like this are picked to serve a purpose - that it would appear the developers actually give a **** about what the community thinks, but at the same time ensuring the folk selected to do the job aren't going to be rocking the boat in any way.

Call it cynical, but this is way the world works.

The only way to for the community to be 'represented', is by letting the community pick their own representatives - anything else is waste of space.

Perhaps Mordor is a bridge too far, game might pack up long before our adventurers reach the land of the Eye.

So, a perceived 'forum elite' and the predictable sour grapes?

Self-pity imprisons us in the walls of our own self-absorption. The whole world shrinks down to the size of our problem, and the more we dwell on it, the smaller we are and the larger the problem seems to grow.
