Really enjoying the game, and the livestreams.

Since they nerfed exp gain in the foundry, it's pretty much pointless to run.

Maybe the xp/loot nerf was the "terrific stuff" they were referring to... :P

Not really. The nerf was way too heavy in response to try to get people to level slower. It basically forces people to play "casually", since doing more than a couple foundry missions cuts the rewards way down after that. I have even heard that some the foundry missions previous highlighted by Cryptic itself have been gutted by the nerf. The foundry was/is basically the only thing holding this game up, and taking a sledgehammer to it was probably not a good idea, more of a knee jerk reaction to the "exploiter" issue. And further, if Cryptic didn't want people to use the foundry as they did, they should have seen it sooner, not after the "not launch".

What exactly is wrong in there? The reduced drop and xp rates have been verified by many players. And a couple stated that they saw the reduced drop rates inside of a single mission (which is to say they hit the max allowed kills) And why did Cryptic do it at all? Because people were leveling too fast, and the Foundry missions allowed people to bypass using the cash shop, and all the convenience items there in (and a bunch of other stuff, too). In other words, leveling was "too convenient" using the Foundry as it was. And that was costing Cryptic money. (And it tells you a bit about how/why they designed certain game mechanics, too.)

You want bigger XP/Drops play the Dev created content, not player created content.  It should have very low XP/Loot gains....it's player created.... get over it and suck it up butter cup

And yet, what is the title of this announcement? The devs (and this site) have been hyping the Foundry as a means to get people to play this thing. And then, they turned around and heavily reduced the benefits for using that much hyped game system. So, you can't have it both ways: either the Foundry is key part of this game, or it isn't (and yet the devs keeps saying it is as a selling point).

QQing will not change anything... just saying.  The foundry is more about the experience of the story/player created and that is what they promoted....NOT... come try our foundry system the best way to get gear/XP/Exploit.... see what I am saying.

Sounds like they are the ones QQing that people were using the Foundry in ways they didn't like and costing them money in farmed items that people did not have to buy out of the cash shop. Which is Cryptic's fault for setting it up that way. So they want people to use the Foundry and make a big deal/selling point out of it, but not get anything / much out of actually using it. Yeah, that sounds just like Cryptic.

Did this happen? I can't find a recording anywhere.
  • wordizwordiz Member Posts: 464
It happened. Even for the foundry daily, you can make 4 times as much off selling one dungeon drop than you can off running 4 foundry quests...and at the same time, you'll be getting less drops and xp that you would doing anything else in the game. A player should be able to play the game entirely on player generated content if they want to, but if they do, they'll level at an extremely slower rate than players that don't.
