well even with all the bugs and broken parts of the game,  i still have fun.

i can still drive and shoot things.

i am fustrated that they seem to have difficulty fixing things, but at the moment i'm not all concerned about finishing pursuits.

And what did they say when you asked them how many of those are paying customers? And how many people are actually active players?

Well, if it was sales they would have said one million copies sold. So not quite sure what this number means.

I'm registered on their website as well. But I never bought the game. Odd that they will boast about something so trivial as registered accounts. That's like the Red Cross bragging about 1 million registered blood donors and not knowing how many actually gave blood.

I'm sure the majority of those players aren't paying customers, since there isn't a subscription. A large portion are if you include buying the game.

I'm still having fun playing this game.  It has it's bugs, but it still fun.

Edit: You can make anything negative, it just depends on what you focus on.  I can win the lottery then make it out to be a horrible thing because now I'll have to pay taxes on that money...I wish I never won the lottery!  This is the problem players are having with new games, imho.  They only focus on the negatives of any game.  "Oh this game is horrible, that one single quest had a typo, the quest text said There when it should've been Their!  I quit this game cuz it's so horrible because of that typo" lol

Exactly what I thought. Sound suspicously like PR spin.

I thought the TV show would have put more people off the game! (Only joking....or am I? ;p).

As long as people are having fun who cares what metric is trundled out.

Though as said that doesn't tell people much.

Didn't Trion pull this exact same stupid stunt with Rift?

    Yep, the did:

They didn't really think that would work twice, did they?

Same here... so the 1 million number is a big "so what" imo.

Defiance does have a large number of players only problem is they are split up due to 360 and PS3 communities being seperate... thanks Sony and Microsoft for being douche bags over this.

I enjoy the game for what it is, and the fact theres a show along-side makes it that much more enjoyable. I didn't hear about them removing the MMO part of the title till after I had already bought it. Lacked any mmo qualities (ui and chat) and wasn't worth $60 maybe $30.

Actually, it was Microsoft that was being the douche in that respect. Sony wanted to be all on one and was willing to work with everyone, including Apple for the Mac versions. Microsoft said no, they will have their own servers. Guess the guys at Microsoft are still pissed about having to put blueray into their next machine.
