Scarlet Blade. Its a ridiculous game. Totally butchered.

As for people polling on WoW to shut down. That will never happen. If it wasn't for WoW, most of you will be playing Solitaire.

They'll get another job, or better yet, move them to another project. No need to subsidize crap just to keep people employed.

Somebody, somewhere has better skills as you have, more experience as you have, is smarter than you, has more friends as you do and can stay online longer. Just pray he's not out to get you.

I don't want to see any games shut down.  If someone is making money off of people enjoying their game, it's a win/win.  If I don't like it, I won't play it.  Even as distraught as I am over the second iteration of Darkfall, I don't feel the need to wish it would shut down.  I'd like to kick some of the development team in the giblets, but I don't want their game to shut down.

Because lazy shills don't deserve success.

What?  Cant's stand the thought of other types of gamers having games that fit their play styles?  I voted none as I believe every type of player deserves a game to call home, whether it's niche or extremely mainstream.  It is my hope that the genre can support having two or more games per niche so we have choice and variety for our preferred play styles.

That's just it. I think there are tons of people that stick with crap because they are too invested in it like a Dollar Auction.  Only a shutdown can free them from crappy-game purgatory.

This thread would have been so much better if it was based on hypothetical "what if X game didn't exist" senarios.

There are many reasons to vote for shutting down some games. If being hater is only explanation you can find, you are probably, last person who should blame others for being close-minded.

Voted for WoW. Not like I wish Blizz to lose money, just really curious what would happen with current MMO scene if WoW disappeared years before it's natural death.

Swtor because of the pure cynisism of it all.

Why should I care about these games getting shut down? If I dont like the game I wont play it, if everyone else feels the same way, the game gets shut down. If there's enough people playing, I wish they have fun. Who the hell am I to shut down games others are enjoying, and like I said, if no one is enjoying them you'll notice that they get shut down anyway.

If the game is making a profit and the players are liking it, who are you to say they should be shut down.  If we went with that line of logic, then all of the haters of WoW would justify shutting it down too.  The sheer arrogance of some people in the gaming community is mind boggling:  "I think it's a turd, therefore it IS a turd".

Had Eve online player steal an in game item I bought for alot of ISK.  The player put stuff in the window and before I clicked trade, he removed it, so thru a glitch he cheated me.  GM's refused to do anything about it because it used in game mechanics.  That is, the GM's support people scamming each other.  I quit the game and ran a campaign on here for awhile against Eve, so much so that I was hurting there business.

I'd be happy with them being shut down.  Based on the fact they got more subscribers than ever, since I gave up the campaign against them, I don't see them shutting down any time soon.

The game is dead not, this game is good we make it and Romania Tv give it 5 goat heads, this is good rating for game.

We can get into specific games of course, but this whole "How dare anyone even entertain the possibilty of a game shutting down" hasn't been backed up by anything but phony indignation. Arrogant? Physician, heal thyself.

I'll sign that poll.  Big gaming companies are as bad as big government - totally counterproductive to imagination, and just trashing games like Dark Age of Camelot into nothing.

Why would anyone want any games to shut down? That's just mean... you didn't create it, it is not your livelihood.

It is like saying you want someone to be out of a job.

That's said, I do want the following games to be fully audited by the independent bodies and be put into administration if found to be incompetent so that they will be held accountable for lying to customers:

    WarZ

    Mortals Online

    WWII Online

Are you sure?  MMOs take time to build?!   Thanks for taking a response, where I said I didn't want anything shut down and acting high and mighty on it.....  I said if my life depended on it, and ?I had to make a choice, sorry the precious TOR doesn't get to live over me, if that was me or it...

    Lord of the Rings Online..

    Why?

The game is old and it feels old. I'm not saying it wasn't fun, it was, but now time has passed and we need to move on. It was a joy while it lasted but now I'm hoping someone else picks up the reigns and makes a new Lotr-theme MMORPG with graphics, gameplay, story we would expect today. Imagine a skyrim-like lord of the rings MMORPG. Wishful thinking? Maybe. But I'ld still want something to replace Lord of the Rings Online.

    Thanks!

I'm not the one trying to harm another person's favorite game just because I don't like it.  Obvious mis-use of the phrase "Physician, heal thyself".

You say it's old, true, but it's still a better looking virtual world than many newer MMO's out there. The character models do need improving though as do their animations but the lore and world are sound (except Runekeepers).

I'm not trying to harm anyone. I'm trying to help the countless people who are victims of the dollar-auction trap.
