If it is an answer to my post (which i'm not sure given it was posted only 4 mins after me and you didn't quote), then i would like to explain yourself further with the limited grow, i don't get what you mean.

About the buff not taking effect, i'm not familiar with the names, but i was thinking of something like the new buff take the place of the older one.

    which buff does it replace?

to use DAOC as an example, if bunker of faith replaced my caster's AF shield, it would at best be a wash...but now I'm fucked when bunker expires. unless it just supresses it.

but even then, how do you decide which effects overwrite what? a delicate balancing act, or worse, randomly?

He'll probably avoid straight stat buffs in favor of debuffs. Other than that I don't think he should limit how many buffs you have on you, that's silly. I'm still up in the air as to whether or not caster AF was a waste of space or actually added something to the game.

TBH I would be happy with 0 buffs, and 0 de-buffs. Dots and things like snares, hamstrings, (moves) etc are fine.

The newest replace the oldest, was what i was thinking.

I cast on a tank first AF, then Constitution, strength and finally Haste (swing speed).

Then i see he is hitting a caster and takes no damage, i decide then to cast a quickness buff to increase further his swing speed, that new buff push out of the buff bar the AF buff i casted first. Then the next one to be cancelled would be the constitution buff.

To prevent buffs from different classes from interferring between each other, just make it so only the support class can cast them.

I'd like there to be AURA buffs where there was a set distance that every same realm member would enjoy the fruits of the buff. Walk away, buff poofs.

We need to get away from the "group" mechanic and go the route of public quests (warhammer), shared xp (GW2 / Defiance) and lose the crappy arbitrary "gruop only" mechanics.

That group only mechanic is what will prevent a zerg to turn mindless by having only people playing alongside each other instead of with each other.

I do agree with more realm themed stuff. Croc tear ring!

Public quests were great, more pve games should hitch on that wagon

No, avoid zerg speed as much as possible. If all their groups are balanced then fine, there's nothing you can do about it. Having 3 speed classes put a 50+ zerg at max speed is a bad idea. If you really want to avoid the group mechanic just make it cap on however many people can be in a group and make it prioritize group members. That way a solo can help the zerg, but you're not screwing over a group with a lack of priorites i've seen in other games (rift and gw2).

never been big on buffs because when it comes to PvP I'd rather fight on equal grounds of sort rather than worrying that you have 50 buffs on you before you fight, or another person rolls right over you because you just don't have a buffbots goodies.

    Abilities all the way.

My  gut feeling is that a wide number of abilities leads to a huge variety of playstyles, which makes for very interesting - and somewhat unpredictable - combat.  Variety is the spice of life. :)

If there are not too many buffs, it can make solo/small group players more viable in a lot of situations - levels the playing field.  And it means that you really appreciate the buffs that you have.

Particularly if there is a buff-stripping ability as well, hehe.

(and I say this with all the love in my heart for the tasty POM my balanced Pac healer had, and an understanding for the deep satisfaction that you get when the top of your screen lights up with buffs, lol.)
