Not so very good news...
Ok now the hackers have some source code ....
Originally posted by Jemcrystal I'm no longer playing any games run by Trion but I sympathize. This kind of thing always leads to inconvenient security measures for gamers.
First time I can sympathize. But AGAIN! This is getting quite tiresome.
Originally posted by Razeekster I wouldn't really call that a "shrugging" matter.
They stole source code for over 30 different games, not account information. Stealing source code is actually kind of stupid but to his there own. So yeah, as a consumer, you can shrug it off. Seem's Trion is anyways since its really nothing more than some chinese hackers trying to steal source code they wont be able to use anyway and is probably outdated by now.
over a four year period, likely old news.
so who knows when this actually happened, or the extent, or what was compromised.
the rest of the article is interesting, but lacks details.
I feel sorry for Trion, I found them cool....
try before buy, even if it's a game to avoid bad surprises.Worst surprises for me: Aion, GW2
Well the report says MANY were hacked.
I can see Trion as a target becuase they have been doing well.I also can see NEOWIZ because their two upcoming games Bless and ummm EIN look pretty good.
I think the msot important thing yo ucan take from it is that when devs go around blaming the players for hacked acoounts, you know they are not being fair or letting out the whole truth.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
