3rd server now, BlackTortoise...

Under the server listing in game, a 3rd server called BlackTortoise is showing now. I'm all for one more server, but two more?!?! Do you guys see it too?

Yep, I see it. WOW, maybe they know something we don't know. It is a world wide release. All of Asian and Europe.
Idk though, the world is so big, it can easily hold a lot more. Maybe that's a test server? Idk...
I was able to log into it and get the character creation screen. In that way it's the same as White Tiger.
I suppose I will have to decide which one to play on, WhiteTiger or BlackTortoise.
Is it world wide? I'm from europe and i thought that I must wait for Age of Wulin. There will be server with good ping from europe?
I was just in a dungeon with people across 8 time zones. Wulin is supposed to be the EU server, but who knows what's going on with that.

Due to the over whelming amount of new characters created for the White Tiger server, we will be opening a 3rd server on April 10th 2013, 3:00PM PDT.
The new server will be named "Black Tortoise."
We will be closing new character creation on White Tiger at 3PM PDT 04/07/13.
At which point, you will only be able to create a new character on Black Tortoise through our Character Pre-Creation event.
All servers will be open for new character creation again on April 10th 2013.
A lot of people already knew about black tortoise, it's just that admins finally annouced it.
Well this ought to be a bumpy ride for blue dragon.
I was thinking the same thing. I agree with many others that that they should just wipe Blue Dragon and keep it down to two servers max. Judging by some of the these financial decisions that Snail is unveiling slowly such as VIP being server bound and now two new servers at launch makes me think they aren't quite accounting for how a lot of western players think. Time will tell though. Well at least it's F2P.

i have done it 3 times now going on my 4th.. not sure what you mean by that... if you want to try a new school you have no choice but to start over

What does my credibility have to do with agreeing with people from the official forums? If anything, post THERE and tell them THEY don't have credibilty. Most of the people on that thread either think they should wipe Blue Dragon, 2 servers is a bad idea, or that they are planning on "Starting Over" on White Tiger. Sure they don't represent the whole player base, but it's a good sample. Besides, saying you can't start over on a game is what is rediculous. I can understand that you are invested in your character and guild, but it's not my fault that Snail is dividing the player base up. Heck, I'm against it and I'm not even anywhere close to your level of devotion to this game.

I believe he means if you have a lot of time invested in one, only to drop it and try again. And I agree with him on that. The longer you play the more powerful your character becomes, with even more scripts over time. At least that's how the game seems so far. I don't see people starting over, but rather maybe playing two characters, with one as an Alt.
You should say "a lot of established players THAT I KNOW...." because I do have a different feeling. Most of my established friends are staying. And most of those who decided to switch at 1st are now reconsidering staying.
It's not because in your guild there is a vibe of "let's switch" that the whole server is switching....

Perhaps they should have waited until after launch and see how many of these new accounts are actually playing on the new server. Three servers just seems insanely stupid, given how low population on Blue Dragon is - most of the world is rather empty and several areas that supposedly will be in at launch hasn't even been implemented yet.
I just can't see how they'll manage to fill three servers, but perhaps they have some secret marketing strategy that noone knows about., lol.
In all honesty I have the feeling most of these "new accounts" are old players reserving their names in case there is a massive exodus from BD come launch. This game will not be flooded with totally new players on day one, it's just not "big" enough in the west for that.

Meh you could have just said, I disagree. I draw my conclusions from chat, forums, polls, and standard nature in a pvp game.
I'm slowly starting to change my tune about this. When I look in our application list and I see over eighty new applicants, well - it's hard to make the argument that Blue Dragon is a dying server. The amount of new players are staggering, I'm constantly being called over to guard our new low level players' escorts and holding PvP training sessions.
Sure, some of the top levels may leave - but it certainly seems like there is a very healthy influx of new members.
Final judgment has to be on hold until ~4/17 though...but I'm cautiously optimistic. It certainly seems like AoW is getting the attention it deserves.
Ive never heard of such a thing, the longer you play your character the more powerfull it becomes? No wonder I can never gain any tracking in any MMO I play.
