Almost at the $400,000, or 20% mark! That is an important mark as 81% of projects that raise at least 20% of their target get funded. In other words, only 19% of projects that raise over 20% of their goal fail.

I suspect a large wave of pledges starting around 5:00 PM EDT / 2:00 PM PDT and carrying on into the evening. Why? That is when people start getting off work and coming home to pledge! :)

It called having an opinion and sharing on an open public forum just like how you want to share yours even though it won't have any impact on anyone.

I like the ideas beyond this, so I'm willing to back it, I've enjoyed both of Mark's major mmos.  The programmer will be putting up some things as the Kickstarter goes.    I can always cancel, raise or lower my pledge based on what's revealed.

Ah, but see, it may.  "Negative Nancys" posting their tripe may influence others not to invest in a project that has potential to be good.

You are not their mother, or their father, nor their friend.  As you are none of those things, your only motivation is to crap on a game which others have hope for, which by its potential will have no negative impact on your or your loved ones.

Again, I ask, why are you here?

In other words:  Why are you here trying to convice everyone else not to invest in something they have hope for?

100% of projects that raise at least 100% of their target get funded.  I'd rather see those odds...

I sincerley hope that no one posting in this thread has ever criticised GW2 fans for pre-ordering.

    There is NO miracle patch.

95% of what you see in beta won't change by launch.

    Hope is not a stategy.

I wonder how many of the people giving away their money will remember to play the game years from now when it comes out, that's if they even like the damn thing once they actually get some real info about it.

Mark already did with Warhammer and yet you still campaign for a blind money throwing contest?? And I dedicated an entire post to how bad WoW is so not sure where you're going with that.

Please see my post about warhammer. Mark was an officer of a public company at that point. Other than being on camera for some of the videos he may not even have known what was going on. It sounds like Hickman ran a snowjob.

If my post wasn't enough and If you'd like a private conversation about some of the ways I think WAR went wrong(that have nothing to do with anyone specific, for the most part), feel free to PM me. Otherwise, take a hike.

So your argument is "I think he didn't have much to do with the game?" i was in Warhammer beta and i can tell you firsthand Mark Jacobs was very involved with WAR, usually on a daily basis. Don't let wishful thinking fool you, Warhammer was a fully Mark Jacobs game and it was bad.......very bad. But feel free to buy a car before you testdrive it. Works out well in real life.

The main reason i threw money behind this project is the idea is what i have been looking for ever since DAoC fell off. I also love the fact that this game will take its direction straight from the community and the devs no other parties involved in steering it for a publisher overlord that wants to meet financial deadlines.

    Good lord.

The worst part is, they don't know how sick they are. All we can do is just stand aside, wring our hands, and shake our heads at these sick, sick, people! Clearly their is nothing to be done no matter how much we cry for them - they're too far gone. *GRINS*

It i a funny word isn't it? if people have the right to encourage others to pledge people also have right to put forward their concern. It is an open discussion forum not a fan site.

So you jumping on him for giving his opinion was really uncalled for. If you are personaly not invested in this project i don't know why you would have problem with his comments. Only because he is being negative? well more like cautious and not throwing his money away.

Clever people look at both sides of the coin before making any decision. If everything is positive and all rosy it just defeats the purpose of these forums.

I dont get it why u pay for something its not even done yet ? Ive heard 1000 other game devs asking for our money and they was wasting them instead of building game of our dreams.

People STOP paying for BETAS access !!!!! Old days they ask us nicely to try game hoping that we like and we buy but now they ask us to buy and they dont give a cr...  if we will like it or not coz we already paid for it .

I did pledged many times before and some day ive realised that they just found another way to pull money from us.

    Silly .....

WAR failed for many many other reasons.  Different classes had nothing at all to do with it.

We don't pay for playing beta. We pay for the game itself to be done and to be able to play. We paid for digital copy of game with a bit more benefits than the others will have. What's more it probably costs less in below 250$ tiers then it will be at realease.

BETA is just a thanks for giving money now. We are not buying it.

OFC it's not the same for IT access. But you can't imagine how many ppl would like to do something like this and they will never have a chance to do something like this in studio like this. So they can do it by donating.

What's more it's our cash. It's our decision what we will do with the money. It's our hobby so that's why we wanna spend some cash on it.

Kickstarter is like Penny Stocks - these companies cannot really get the big money people interested so they go this way. May as well burn it - that is how many of these Kickstarter/Penny Stock companies actually make it. Many try to use the Kickstarter money to get the Real Investors to cough up money also.

The amount of money raised from a Kickstarter campaign will only cover a very small portion of development.

They will send an E-mail to remind it...

Go read the Foundational principle (http://camelotunchained.com/en/), and if you like what you see you'll like the game. The actual mechanics of the game that weren't explained yet will be all geared to have a game as close to those FP as possible. You can be sure of that because as a niche game CU will need regular players, and it'll be the backers. Doing otherwise would kill the game.

Oh, shoot!  You're right...why didn't I think of this?  I'd better go retract my pledge.

It's not paying for "beta access," it's paying for the game itself to be developed, instead of them going through a traditional publishe who ends up pulling the strings, usually retaining control of the IP, and influencing the design of the game.

You can generally get the full game from kickstarter at a very low price (usually lower then the retail price whent heg ame is released).

It's not like you have to fund the game, then turn around and "buy" the game once it's made (unless you choose to, or pledge at the lowest level which is usually < $5).

They didn't ask for other investors at all. because they want to keep their freedom of work. So they won't ask for one no matter how it goes.

"You can generally get the full game from kickstarter at a very low price" - you are not paying for game ,u pay for them for that all info they gave you at Kickstarter how wonderful product you will get .You buying promisses and thats why im against ths idea now. Anyway i hope you all get what you paid for .  To buy a game u would use some online store.
