This is actually a good idea,i think all games should represent sponsors and just anything cool in game.

Another cool idea i am sure would go over well,is Nationality gear, sporting the American colours or British or Canadian or French, you know as many as possible.

Just curious to where the D/l server  and the game server are?I am seeing what looks like Packet loss,D/l is really fast like 800-900 kb/s  then stalls at 1 kb/s often.

In a more modern themed MMO like this one or TSW not a bad idea, but in fantasy based games I wouldn't want to see players running around with "Coke" on their helmets. (or MMORPG.com on their shield) image

In my day MMORPG's were so hard we fought our way through dungeons in the snow, uphill both ways.

Really annoying that you can't get these items on an existing account.

    Ummm.....

    Ummm...

The download is stuck on 2498/2498.1 for 15 minutes now,i sense a serious problem.Yet another  game that fails to  get me at least into the first screen of the game.../sigh.

So i figure maybe a bug where it does not recognize the D/L is finished,so i just hit stop.

    ummm...

Stop button on d/l does not work,i will have to cntrl/alt/del .../sigh.

man i really wanted to try it,but i never give games a second chance,.,.,.sorry.Unless by some random miracle ,after i exit and try the startup it works, but i doubt it :(

Welcome to standard behavior of that company.

Its all about attracting new players, milking them out with pay to win cash shop, with no regards to player retention and with everything in their games being focused on forcing players to buy stuff from cash shop. Its litterally the only focus of the gameplay of their games.

Have you tried direct download? I don't like p2p client download in games, even if they lie on the download page that it's the faster route :)

For me the 2.6Gb exe was down in about 30min. (there was only one pick for Eu download)

I admit I just gave it a try because of the bomb mode, but to be honest, CS was better :)  or maybe only the nostalgia factor made me feel this way. It just gave me the urge to play some CS, sadly nobody's playing anymore from the old team...

To Absolute Force, it's not a bad game. I just played a few rounds, still only at lvl4. The base weapons are average, I bumped into much stronger ones in the hands of high level players. (I mean my head bumped into the headshots...) Don't know those are cash shop-only stuff, or in-game unlocks. The level desing isn't bad either. The hero mode is hilarious :)

It's much better for some occasional 10-20min action fun than PS2, so I guess I'll keep it installed. And the mmorpg jacket looks cool...

Thanks, MMORPG.com! I still occasionally bust out my "O" balloon in Dragonica now and then.  :)

Seems like a bad strategy to me, attracting new players is important, but so is player retention and bringing back lost players.  There is nothing lost by giving existing accounts access to this event, if anything, specifically excluding people is enough to drive some away.

Surprised they're not more concerned with their player count since I only see like 200 people online at high times.

Games like STO allow existing accounts to get the items from these kind of events, and it's the kind of thing that renews interest in a game.

Funny enough, Phantasy Star Online actually do this with some of its stuff. I know PSO2 actually has advertisements within it and other features in combination with a cash shop which (as far as I seen) isn't a bad cash shop at all. I have no problem with advertisingments in game if its down in a clever way, whether pushed through loading screens (hopefully in a not so detracting manor) or within the game itself. Modern/futuristic games tend to have an advantage of it not looking as out of place at least.
