Contrary to what some people think, video games aren't just for kids anymore. The avergae gamer is in their 30's. Yes, it looks sexist. Yes, it looks like utter crap. The great thing is if you don't like it then you don't have to buy it. If enough people do this then the game will die. If that doesn't happen and it becomes popular...yay capitalism? Different strokes () for different folks.

I Must admit I would play a violent game if it was fun here, but playing with sexualised child like characters is something I would feel deeply uncomfortable about and would not do. Nipples ok, nipples on children, um no. Adults playing such games - weird quite frankly or worse. Children should play neither.
edit, in reply to post above, i do not allow my children to play such games, although my teenager moans his face about it because some friends in his class are allowed to /9call of duty). Some parents are not on the ball (read some posts here - they will be parents eventually) and need support, i.e if this crap is removed, all to the good.
I'm not sure where you're getting this "child like characters" bit from. Take a look at screenshots of the game, the vast majority of the models are clearly adults, and to my knowledge there is one that could be made an argument is intended to represent a teenager. Unfortunately, thats a HUGELY common thing in the japanese culture. The whole asexual, "what age is this person", "Is it a boy or a girl", etc etc.
The reality comes back to that this is a M rated game, and like some others posters have said its the job of parents to regulate what their children are and aren't partaking in.

To be honest, Scarlet's Blade character models aren't any more porn than Guild Wars 2 or Tera. They just are honest about it.

I think it also shows the sexual insecurity of the average mmo player. Maybe worth making a study of, by some Swede University or something like that.

Overall, this game is a joke from it's down right boring gameplay to its dated graphics. I don't think anyone should take offense to this game as far as 'nudity'. Games have been doing this for years now and like I've said, "Funcom already did it.'
Couldnt agree more with this post. I tried the game out for a couple of hours, and although its not terribad, its not good. Id rate it like a 4/10 as far as an actual MMO goes.
The sad part is that the game actually had features people have been begging for in games like wow, like a built in DPS meter. My favorite one that i literally LOL'd at:
You know you get a quest from someone to kill 10 rabid wolves, and you literally killed like 7 of them just on the way to the camp where the quest guy was/is. The game actually keeps track of that, so you only have to go out and kill 3 more instead of 10.
Also, the age of conan thing is funny from the start because he is right, nudity from the beginning. In Scarlet Blade you have to purchase a founders pack thing which has an item that can make the character "nude".
So yes, the thread has reached the height of absurdity

lol then either its aiming at those with a wee taste for peodophilia, or the advertising is aiming for teenagers and knowing all to well it appeals to teenagers not adults. Have you not seen them? they were pretty disturbing.
I've seen far worse in advertising, as for the pedo issue the models don't even look remotely childish. So far I haven't seen any ads that disturbed me from this game.
Teenagers have parents it is up to them to monitor what their child does. Also many adults like this stuff, if the game was decent i'd play it too. I see no issue since it doesn't contain rape or children.

It's more of a culture thing I wager. Asians generally speaking have no tits or ass so they are featured a lot in their gaming. Anyone been to Okinawa, Japan knows this. While not all MMOs do the sex sales pitch I do see it a lot more of the bikini/cleavage in Asian MMOs, more so than American MMOs.

im assuming you meant all those games are much better than Scarlet Blade to which i have to disagree, especially with Tera/Raiderz since those are the only 2 i've played from that list of games. Tera is a beautiful looking game, but its just a generic mmo with no real staying power. Raiderz same thing really. It's not great at all, just average, which is just what this game is. Just another run of the mill average game.

Im sorry, for making yet another assumption, but it sounds almost to me as if you think Tera and Raiderz are ESPECIALLY good mmorpgs. They are not.
I am in no way saying they are bad games persay, i'm saying they're merely average. So is Scarlet Blade. They don't have any stating power. Not much allure to them. Tera has its graphics, scantily clad women, Elins, and combat as its main allure to the game. Look past those and you've got "more of the same, but without polish". Tera is nothing special, and i say this as someone who's currently playing Tera, Level 60 with full regent gear working towards Visionmaker.
Raiderz is even worse then Tera.
Archage, im not gonna talk about as i haven't played it and my hands are full atm with other things to jump into another new game. If you jumped into Scarlet Blade and expected truly innovative or great combat, you have issues. If you jumped into it expecting it for what it was, you'll realize it's not much better or worse than Tera, Raiderz or 90% of any other f2p out there as i said in my last post.
meh iv played SB up to about lv 20.. game is ok from a gamer/mmo point of view... they went way too noob on it though, as there is auto pathing to npcs/quest marks/quest targets.. you can literally play it on auto pilot
so as a game/mmo is rather unimpressive. as for the smut.. meh unless you are a 12yr boy its not that impressive either lol. its like watching a very heavy fan service anime the audio ques for pain and even some of the very limited voice over work for npcs is dripping with piss poor smut attempts.
(oh ya the npcs have like 30s of voice over.... rather pathetic and feels thrown on for kicks)
all in all, i wouldnt call it an MMO or a porno.. as its rather impressive and lack luster in both regards.
but by all means if you are a 12yr over sex driven boy the game will keep you entertained for hours.... ~facepalm~

There are porn MMOs in the Asian market. Frankly, I find them REALLY creepy and kind of twisted. SB is kind of sexed up in art and innuendo but I'd not call it a porn MMO.

sooner or later everyone gonna do sex at some point... i find it cliche and stupid taboo to hide sex like its something bad... all these problems are complexing taboos coming from the church. there is nothing more natural than the sexual attraction and sex.
They can put all the semi naked or naked women they want in this game but it is still an awful end product. Nudity isn't going to save it.
