But really, so many good games out there.

Just about every (non-MMO) Final Fantasy.. except FFIX, hated the old victorian(?) theme. Only one I've never completed. FFVI is my fav of them all though. Lost Odyssey is also up there with FF games.
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.

Lineage 2 or maybe EVE, unsure of which. In the long run EVE for sure but L2 was great fun back in the day.

    WoW.

Not because of the game itself, but the fun i've had playing with personal friends in those years.

    Pool of Radiance.

The original one that is not the remake.

    1. For god's sake mmo gamers, enough with the analogies. They're unnecessary and your comparisons are terrible, dissimilar, and illogical.

    2. To posters feeling the need to state how f2p really isn't f2p: Players understand the concept. You aren't privy to some secret the rest are missing. You're embarrassing yourself.

    3. Yes, Cpt. Obvious, we're not industry experts. Now run along and let the big people use the forums for their purpose.

Bloodbowl would have to be it I guess. It is an old friend that is always there. A cross between chess, football and fantasy races plus ya get to kill Elfs. (Can't wait to see what Bloodbowl 2 is going to be like).

It would have been early early Everquest but it had as many horrific memories as cherished ones. The open world PVP then was the most fun I have had in an MMORPG. The PVP from level 4 to about 20 was the most fun. But then there was the PVE and the rest of the game. I just hated that solo attacking a goblin npc of the same level was suicide, with a death penalty that would have you pulling your hair out.

Cheers to the one who mentioned Speedball 2, that's way up there too.

If I had to pick one then Civilization.  Runner up is Ultima VII.

    Cheers!

MMO Vet since AOL Neverwinter Nights circa 1992. My MMO beat up your MMO. =S

I threw in Morrowind earlier, but that was a few pages ago, so I'm going again.  Baseball Stars for the NES was awesome - spent an entire summer playing nothing but that game with my buddy.

    Likewise

I was In Prophets at the time. Who knew the whole guild was just a front for a scandal that would reach the news everywhere involving the child actor Brook Pierce as well. http://www.wired.com/gaming/virtualworlds/magazine/16-12/ff_ige?currentPage=3

2 at the top for me, played both atleast 6-8 years each, maybe more with going back, and alternate servers and such.

EQ and UO, I probably played EQ longer, but UO had more of the harvesting/crafting, housing, player economy stuff I like...

So I have to go with UO, despite probably spending more time in EQ.
